I thought I was having a rough time until I responded to an e-mail my board member contact had sent me and accidentally sent it to my boss...
All I can say is once Conference is over, I'm sure I'm out of there. I apologized profusely but what I said was hurtful and unprofessional, there's no undoing it. It is probably a sign as I can get away by her choice and not keep running back to her but boy.. I have felt like crap for the last few days and had a serious meltdown after I did it. DH was so concerned as he'd never seen me so upset.
I will try and catch up on all the posts but I'm running like a chicken with its head cut off right now and I would REALLY like a nap! :-)

Oh Caroline. That stinks. I would feel just as bad.
I am curious as to what you said!, but it was probably all true. And I doubt it was that bad if you felt comfortable enough to send it to your board member contact. Like pp have said, maybe it will be a wake-up call for her. Or it will be the final push to get you out of there for good. It is an unhealthy relationship you have with this woman and you need to distance yourself. I know you have a connection to this organization but when you are this unhappy and you are pushed to the extreme of saying bad things about her, you need to realize that you need to come first, no matter how great the organization might be.

agreed! *hugs* sweet girl. chin up!
Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise. Don't stress yourself out over the whole thing, based on everything you have told us, if the shoes was on the other foot, your boss wouldn't be apologizing!
(((((hugs))))) hang in there!
I agree with Mel and Kellie that this might be what you need to finally cut all ties with this lady. I understand you love the organization but at the same time you are unhappy and you may try to do your best to seperate your work and personal life but many times the two overlap and if you are unhappy in one of them it shows in the other. Hopefully going through this will make you a stronger employee and someone who will stand up for herself and not let someone constantly degrade you.
