Restaurant Rec

I need help. 4 of us are going out to eat tomorrow in the city. We don't have a location picked out so we're open to almost anywhere because most likely we'll be driving.

Price rang of no more than $20 an entree. Torn between BYO or a place with an awesome beer list. No tapas - one person doesn't like to share. I'm tempted to say either somewhere around Market East station or somewhere in Old City.

No continental, Jones, or El Vez.

Thanks.

Re: Restaurant Rec

  • I'm a fan of National Mechanics for 1) it's awesome draft and bottle selection and 2) their veggie burger--hands down, the best veggie burger I have ever had.  eSyn and I have been at least a dozen times for lunch and have had good food each time. They have a few inventive dishes, but it is mostly bar-style food.

You could do Eulogy, too if you were in the mood for mussels and an extensive 4-page beer list.

A new one to try out is the Farmer's Cabinet--1113 Chestnut Street. I have not been but it does have an extensive beer list. Unfortunately, I just checked, and the entree costs are in the $25-$28 range.  Might be worth checking out, though.

  • I use to eat natl mechanics veggie burger once a week omg I miss it.
  • As a burger lover, I may like National Mechanics veggie burger as much, if not more, than most beef burgers.  Yum!
  • Thanks! I might just have to check this out!

  • It's restaurant week in University City.  Menus are $15 / $25 / $35 pp depending on the place: http://www.universitycity.org/diningdays

I'm trying to decide between Biba and Dock's Brewery for tonight. Haven't been to either, and both menus look good.
