Sprinkler installation

We are considering getting a sprinkler system put in - does anyone have any company or individual recs?  We are in PL, if that matters.

Also - does everyone generally like their sprinkler system or are there horror stories you want to share?  DH is tired of spending some of his nights and weekends watering the yard.

Re: Sprinkler installation

  • It was one of the best investments we ever made! We got tired of watering the yard every night, and then when we had Evan we decided we just didn't have the time. If we didn't have it this year I swear we would have just let it all die.

Oh, and we use less water now because it waters more efficiently. Our guy only works in Sugar Land, or I'd give you his number.

Dx: PCOS and short luteal phase
18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!

  • We had ours installed when the house was built and our builder used Choate. They are a big company; however, we have had great experiences with them when having repairs done (ran over a sprinkler head, the builder buried all of the heads on one side of the yard when building the neighbors house, etc.). The price was reasonable and because you have to pay for 1 hour minimum, both times we had them out, the guy has voluntarily spent the rest of the time checking all of the heads and making spray adjustments because plants have grown, etc., since he still had part of the hour left. We were pleasantly surprised.

  • We're in Pland to and used South West Sprinkler Company after getting estimates and plans from serval companies.

They were very thorough and will come back and make adjustments as many times as you want in the first three months.  We had them come back at least twice.

I thought their price was really fair for the products they use (rainbird) and number of zones that were put in (12)

Let me know if you have any questions.

Can you PM me your approximate cost for installation (if you don't mind sharing?).  I have a general number in mind, so I just want to make sure I am not way off.  Also - what size lot do you have?

can you share the contact info?  DH mentioned he wanted a sprinkler system so it wouldn't hurt to get a quote.
