Is this too much to spend on Kids bedding?

DS has a plain comforter that I got from Khols for like 30 bucks.  Pottery Barn kids has National League Baseball sheet and a duvet. This would cost a little over 100 + shipping. I'm not certain if the duvet will fit or if that will need to go back. Is this reasonable?   It's about the same cost as a King comforter set for my bed.

If you have purchased sheet set's from PB do you need to buy a separate pillow case or doe it come with the set?

Has anyone used a duvet to cover a comforter instead of a feather comforter?

  • Its not a lot if you plan on having him use it for several years (IMO)

  • Ditto Niko. if it's overly babyish and you'll only use it a year or two then it could be.  Mj's set can last him a few years which is why we went with it.

  • i hesitantly bought ava a PBK sheet set and quilt and valences. hesitant because of the price. let me tell you - the quality is wonderful, and i love that the pattern is something we can use for a long time.

if it's not babyish, i'd go for it!

  • PBK bedding quality is worth it, IMO.  We have a couple of their crib sheets and they are just a soft and colorful after a million washings as they were the day we got them.  If you plan to use the bedding for a couple of years it's worth it.

  • I spent that on Jack's bedding and it wasn't PB it was Eddie Bauer.

For Charlotte I love the sheets but I have a mini crib- so I need smaller stuff- grrr  and the set i like which is similar to PB is more expensive, so again I see no issue with spending it.

Jack's stuff will be his for a while.  Hopefully Charlotte's will too unless when we move in 2 years I decide to do something else with her room (they will be sharing for now.

  • agreed that it's not too much if you plan on using it for a while.  I'm shopping for new bedding too as we're going to be moving A into his full size bed soon.  I was eyeing this set myself since A loves baseball, but he's already told me about a zillion times that he would like Toy Story for his new bed....so this one may be out for right now.

I say go for it!!  I love the quality of PBK.

  • OK I ordered it. It won't ship until 8/9 but I don't think that is a big deal. Maybe it will come down a little more in price.

I did get the baseball theme National League. I wish they had the baseball cap duvet but we had to get the logo's. I hope I like it once it get's here. I feel bad getting stuff for the baby and nothing for him so I thought it might be nice.

a little late but so glad you ordered it.

DD's bedding is PBK that i got on sale and it is amazing!!!!!  And like Jen, we have extra sheets that are still as soft as the day we got them.  i have the valence, etc. too.

I am sure he will love them and it definitely sounds like a pattern he can have for years

  • I'm on the opposite side where I think that's a ton of money to spend on bedding, especially, since some of it you cant use for the first year +.  But that's me. I didn't even look at PB - maybe I should have!  I ended up getting a design that was in the process of being discontinued for like 40$ for everything - didn't know that until afterwords but it was all A and I would agree on.  I think the kids taste change so much even as they get older - what I would have picked out for K when I was pregnant wouldn't be what I got for her now.
  • DS is 8. So it's for a twin bed. He thought the baseball stuff was cool but I know that he might change his tune.
