I almost punched a child in the face.

I am sitting in my living watching project runway. I have one front window partially opened because of the nice weather. The blind is mostly down. So i am chilling and a  kid jumps up and pulls himself up into the window and pushes his face up/into my screen.

I LOST MY *** but luckily i saw it was a kid before i just straight up punched the window.  I am often breastfeeding in my living room since my windows aren't on street level so this was very invasive feeling.

I said hey can i help you and he looked flustered, even though he rode his bike by not twenty mintues earlier when he saw grab the mail so he knew someone lives here. and was like um this house for sale? and i was like yes, but someone lives here and isn't polite to look into people's windows like that and he just grabbed his bike and ran off.

ugh not okay kid, i am glad i realized it was kid but seriously.

Re: I almost punched a child in the face.

  • Do you think he might have been looking to see if the house was empty of people so he could break in (either to just mess with someone, vandalize, etc)?  I have no idea the age of this kid, but was he old enough to know better?

No idea what his thoughts were, he was probably 11/12 ish. But it made me very uncomfortable because he drove by on his bike earlier and was staring at the house then but i thought he was just you know staring because kids are weird. but now with the jump and look in made me nervous.

again the big thing is i don't want to be bare chested with kids jumping in my window.

  • Ughhh there were kids on my street at our old house that used to peek in our windows. It drove me nuts. I'd be sitting there, and then I'd notice a pair of eyes looking through our blinds. We had to keep them completely shut all the time.

I used to casually mention it to their mom and she'd laugh and shrug it off.

I'm glad you said something to him!

eh maybe. lots of kids screw around by our house because of the grass lot across from us. i only remember him from this morning because of his bike, it was an adult pink bike so i thought it was odd. but yeah i wanted to shut the window but its nice i am keeping it open and will draw the blind or curtain when i nurse next.

i am also going to mention it to the neighbor who told my FIL i was pregnant. because he'll keep an eye out for me.
