Who's going to see

Who's going to see Harry Potter this weekend?

Are you excited? Sad? Glad it is over?

Did you grow up with the books or pick them up later?

Do you absolutely despise all things HP the way a lot of people hate Twilight?

Have you never read the books? If not, why?

Who's your favorite character?

And go!

I wouldn't say I hate HP, but I've never read any of the books, or have seen any of the movies. I was just never that interested in it. My SIL however is HP crazy, she has her midnight showing tickets....and told me she cried bc it's over.

And I made soooooo much fun of heeeeer.

I never got into Harry Potter.  I have seen a couple of the movies, and they are entertaining, just not my thing.

  • We're actually going to the midnight show tonight.  DH is a fan and got me into the movies.  I'm still in the process of reading the books though ... only on #5.  I'm excited to see the movie, but it's not going to kill me that it's all over.

My only hope is that I can actually stay awake for the movie tonight.  I've never been to a midnight showing, but I'm going to prep by taking a nap after work today! Smile

  • I feel like I've kind of grown up with the books & movies. I've seen each one in the theater as they came out and gotten the books as soon as they came out too. But I'm not a super fan. DH and I actually don't have plans to go this weekend but I may have to convince him to try to squeeze it in. We're just super busy right now and I think it's kind of fallen to the side.
  • There are few things I care about less than Harry Potter.

In other words, not watching it lol.

  • I read the first book in 8th grade...and that's as far as I got.  I don't think I've seen any of the movies; except maybe tidbits on TV
  • We're going on Saturday morning. The theater didn't have any IMAX/3D tickets listed past next week, and I got nervous that it was going to get bumped for one of the other big summer movies before we could get to it. Plus, I saw the last one like a month and a half after it came out, and I was spoiled for all of the changes.

I am too old to say that I grew up with the books, but I got curious about the hype when Goblet of Fire came out, and I've since read and own all of them. My husband has seen most of the movies, though he's never read any of the books.

I know I'm going to cry like a baby over some of the deaths. *sniff*

  • I'm not into HP and will not be going to see the movie.  I don't despise it.  It's just not my style of entertainment.  And I'm too old to have grown up with the books...I was in college when I first heard of them, though I'm sure they were out before then.

For those of you that love it, though, I hope it's an awesome movie!  Enjoy it!

  • I was a senior when the first book came out and the store I was working in carried the book so I read it on breaks and was hooked.  I've seen every movie at the theater and stood in line for most of the books the night it came out.  I'm not sad it's over since the actors could quickly outgrow the roles.  I think the movies are done well and I'm glad they had the same actors throughout-- not many movie sequels can say that!!

I wish we could go tonight but we are old fuddy duddys and will be asleep, but I will def be seeing it this weekend at some point in imax 3D!!!!!!

PS--- I HOPE no one compares HP to their hatred of Twilight!!!  I like Twilight but the HP books/movies are FAR superior in my opinion.  As far as modern literary writers go, JK Rowling is a flippin' genius.

  • Bragging here, but as some of you know I got to see an advance showing last night!  It was GREAT!  It was only 2 hours, but seemed so much longer, but in a good way.  There was so much in the movie.  It was just fantastic.  There is not ONE dull moment.

For those of you who aren't into HP, disregard everything I just said, you probably still wouldn't like it, and that's okay, it's not everybody's thing.

  • We're going to wait til it dies down before we go see it. I'm indifferent, but I'm not a big fan of going to movies - they're too high priced these days, and we almost always wind up in the theater with a really rude person that is either on the phone or talks through the movie, or someone brought their annoying child.

I grew up with the books - my cousin bought me the first one when it first came out, and I was hooked. Zach hasn't read them, only seen the movies, but I'm sure that'll change eventually. My favorite character didn't show for a while, but I love Luna. She's so...out of it, yet at the same time, she's very smart.
