Need beach help...
I need help from people who know the Westchester area... where can I go to the beach? Yes, this is a serious question. Ha ha. I'm originally from NJ and typically go there on the weekends in the summer, but we have plans locally Saturday night and I want to go to the beach for a few hours during the day on Saturday. Where can I go??

I found these when I googled but their website (Hudson Park, at least) is saying I need some omnicard thing to use the beach. Seriously? Why can't I just go to a beach? No comprende.
there is oakland beach next to playland in rye. Its not the cleanest beach but its pretty inexpensive to go and I havent been since high school.
or
in larchmont all the way down along the shore you have to park on the residential streets but its a public (to the neighborhood) beach.
or
sherwood island in CT...I think its like exit 18 on I95 north..
all of the other beaches I know of you need to be a member of to go.

I would drive by and check it out first. DH used to go there every summer when he was little. I haven't been over there at all because I didn't grow up here. I know Glen Island is nice.
