Quote...

It seems that the A10s are having a tough day so that got me thinking. What's you favorite quote or piece of advice that helps you get through tough times??

Here's mine....

Re: Quote...

  • It doesn't have to be religious, just something that inspires you.

  • I don't know if it's a quote necessarily, but I REALLY honestly do believe that everything happens for a reason, and that helps me get through difficult days.

Also the last phrase from Desiderata which is on my wall beside my desk is pretty awesome (well the whole thing is awesome, but the last phrase I love):

"With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy."

    Thank you. : )

    This goes for me too!

  • Good post!!!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE quotes.  I actually "collect" them in an album.  Yesterday I was using excerpts from "Oh, the places you'll go" by Dr. Seuss for a bulletin board at school.  It's too long to paste here, but read it here when you have a few minutes.

If I had to pick ONE to share, this is one of my faves

  • Great post - much needed :-)

I have way too many choose just one, but one of my favorites comes from Michael Scott on the episode of "The Office" when he is about to leave to start his own company and no one believed in him enough to join him:

"You don't know how high I can fly"...

  • I have this one cut out of a magazine & taped to my desk...

It's attributed to Vincent Van Gogh

  • This is one that I repeat to myself daily (especially when things aren't going good):

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace. -Ecc. 3:1-8

It reminds me that even the bad has a spot in my life just like the good and the time for the good will come. I just have to continue to push through the bad to get there.
There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven. - Ecc. 3:1 <a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="D
  • Great post!  I have too many favorite quotes (I filled an 18-month calendar with a quote a month and have it on by my desk, it's great!), here are a few:

Only as high as I reach can I grow, Only as far as I seek can I go, Only as deep as I look can I see, Only as much as I dream can I be. (Ravn)

Mistakes are stepping stones to success. (Popplestone)

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. (Aesop)

Little by little, one travels far. (JRR Tolkien)
