DH and I were planning on going to Harry Potter Friday, but I told him I was considering going Thursday night, since you know, its the last movie, and my love affiar with HP has been going on for more than a decade (almost 12 years here), and I am invested.
Well I decided since I have to work Friday, I should really go Friday night, and it wont be that big of a deal (discussed with H) DH came home Monday, and when I asked when we should get tickets, he says he told a co-worker we would go to their house for game night. AGGGG!! by then it was too late to get Thurs tickets, they were all sold out! (with the exception of 130 showing ~40 minutes away)
He said we didnt have to go, but I thought it seemed rude to back out and be that girl. DH also said that we could go after- the thing starts at 7, he said we could go at like 9/930. I still think this is rude, and also feel like a nut choosing seeing a movie over hanging out with our friends.
would you go friday night? wait until saturday?
Re: this may be unforgivable. and a ? (updated)
I'm sure my opinion is completely skewed because I am not into HP at all, but I personally would just go on Saturday.
However I don't think you would be "that girl" for cancelling on game night plans, especially after he just made them. All he has to say is that he didn't realize you had already made plans for the night.

I agree with the majority. Have your H tell them you guys had a miscommunication about your plans and you won't be available afterall. It's not like you're missing someone's wedding or something. It's game night.
Or just tell them that HP is fighting to protect all of humanity and he needs your mad therapist skills to get inside Voldemort's head and trick him into killing himself...... Or something.
