I posted last night about not wearing a suit to the first interview. I was asked to come back for a 2nd interview on Friday. I wore a cardigan, pants and heels today. What should I wear to the second interview? Suit? The environment wasn't very dressy. (The COO had on a sleeveless top and pants. The director of operations had on a short sleeve top and pants.)
Re: Second interview attire
I think something similar to what you wore for the first interview would be fine. Good luck!!
ETA: I'm sure some people will come in here to say you always wear a suit to an interview but I don't think that's always true (and I'm in HR). Here is a link to a guide written recently by a well known HR blogger: http://www.bnet.com/blog/evil-hr-lady/what-should-i-wear-to-a-job-interview/2495
Pants and a nice top sound fine since the environment wasn't very dressy.
The environment has no bearing on what you wear to an interview. Even if you're interviewing on a casual Friday, that doesn't mean you interview in something more casual than Business Monday.
I'd still recommend a suit.

I would recommend a suit as well. At least dress on a similar level or above compared to the first interview.
I second that what you wear for an interview and what you wear at that place were you employed don't go hand in hand. I wore a suit to an interview and the woman I met with was wearing jeans and dressed super casual.
I agree 100%.
The rule of thumb I use is, not how does everyone dress on a day to day basis in the office, but how would they dress (or be expected to dress) if a VIP made a special visit to the office?
In my current industry, when I interview, I wear a conservative "business" suit: charcoal grey pants suit with a blue or green button-down shirt.
In the new industry I am trying to get into, which is more creative/trendy, to a recent interview I wore a bright yellow sleeveless (but thick straps) sundress with full skirt, and a white linen 1-button jacket. To another interview I wore an olive green linen suit (A-line skirt with matching jacket), and a white button-down shirt with lots of ruffles in the front.
I always wear heels when I interview.
It sounds like something similar to what you wore to the first interview would be appropriate. Good luck!
I agree with Dr. Loretta and think for an interview, let it be your second interview, you should wear a suit. You might be meeting a new set of people than your first interview and also you shouldn't let the environment dictate what you should wear to an interview.
My husband and I disagree on this suit thing though. I've always worn a suit to my interviews, and he has on occasion not worn suits to interviews. He's now on the interviewer side and doesn't care what candidates wear really as long as it's not torn or pjs he doesn't really give it a thought (although I think he should) but his teammate who also interviews the same candidates is critical of how the candidate is dressed and even has commented to my husband about certain candidates choice of clothing for the interview.
