So I've worn Gap jeans for years and recently went to purchase some new ones only to find that they now make them out of some stretchy pseudo-denim rather than heavy jean denim. I'm fine with a little stretch, but this is more like material than jeans. Know what I mean?
Anyhow, now I need somewhere to buy pants. What brands do you guys like? I need 'em pretty long.
Re: Jeans.
sounds like pajama jeans! lol
I like Lane Bryant, but when I was smaller, I liked American Eagle jeans. Not sure what I'd go for now. Old Navy has some good ones too I think
Call me cheap, but my favorite pair is from Walmart.
They are the only ones I found that I can get in the perfect length, that don't hang off my ass, and fit my curves without leaving the dreaded fanny crack look in the back when your pants have that gap going on. And they are under $20.
I wish I didn't get them at Walmart, but they are seriously my favorites regardless.
They are! In fact they're so floppy that they're almost too tight to pull up when I first put them on but by noon I have to hike them up constantly.
Ooh, I hoped you'd respond after I saw on some other post how tall you were. Thanks for the tips.
My shape is weird and American Eagle tends to work best for me. They're not very expensive and often have sales, and I believe they keep long (and short, which is what I need, heh) sizes in stock in store.
And my Gap jeans do the same thing - they're super tight straight out of the wash and I have droopy butt by lunch! Fail.
I actually had some luck at Old Navy recently, which was surprising...I'm petite (so, I have the opposite length problems...) and I hardly ever find jeans at discount retailers that fit me. I got some Diva-style jeans for $17 a few weeks before paying about $45 each for two pairs from the Gap Outlet - and that stretch thing really is bothering me...but the Old Navy's don't have that problem (they seem to have no stretch at all, actually). They certainly aren't the most flattering jeans I've ever owned, but they are great for the price and are quite comfy.
Seems the concept of "just the right amount of stretch" is lost on the affordable jean-making industry.
I tried on a pair last night (They happened to have a pair of talls in the factory store - you usually have to order them.) - that would be one of the better options since DH works for them. They were surprisingly flattering EXCEPT that I'm pretty short torso-ed and they came up to my boobs. I'll have to see what my other LLB options are.
I am really picky with jeans. My favorites are Sevens, Joes, or Citizens. Pricey but jeans are an area in which I'll splurge! I usually look for a little stretch (98% cotton, 2% lycra). I also have a pair of skinny jeans from J.Crew that I like.
I CANNOT WAIT to be able to fit into my jeans again! Hopefully this will be sooner than later . . .
So excited to meet Peanut this fall!

Yeah, I have a long torso -- I'm over 5'5" tall and I need a 29" inseam. I also have a butt one size bigger than my waist. And I hate clothes shopping. I rejoiced when LLB came out with their curvy cut petite length pants!
