What are you avoiding doing today.... or lately....?

I am feeling super crappy, and should just go home. For some reason, I am avoiding telling my boss I'm leaving early. I hate to be seen as a slacker.
Also, I'm supposed to be looking for a painter, which I don't feel like doing. I have to make an appointment for DD to get a tuberculosis test for her new preschool in the fall, and don't feel like doing that either.
I can come up with about ten million work things that I am avoiding... though I do hope to have most of them done by the end of the day if I can just manage to buckle down (so much easier said than done)...
Otherwise my two major things are:
1. cleaning out/organizing my closet. I don't even know where to begin, and I am completely overwhelmed. I know that I can probably get rid of half of the stuff in my master bedroom closet, not to mention the two guest room closets that I have completely taken over.
2. contacting a friend who, about a month and a half ago, said she was coming down here with her husband and baby, and asked if she could stay here Mon-Wed of next week. I've reached out a couple of times to find out exactly when they will be here (he is going to the Orioles/Red Sox game in Baltimore) so that I can arrange to spend some time with them (ie, move around meetings, take time off work, etc) - and last contact, still no info, she said she'd call back and I never heard from her. Part of me wants to assume that they just changed their plans, the other part of me thinks I better clean like a maniac and just assume I'll see them at some point, but no part of me feels like chasing her around anymore to see what is up....
i am trying to avoid killing someone today. Work colleague who needs to get her shizzat together and stop blaming everyone for her own damned neglect.
nothing on my plate this weekend, and so I plan to get all my work done (at home today - yay!) and laze about FIL's pool for two days. any takers?

I am trying not to kill an intern. Aren't interns supposed to be making a good impression? This one is NOT.
I am need to do my baseboards. My poor dog is really hot and has been shedding more than usual, resulting in lots and lots of hair that I pushed with the vacuum last weekend. Now, I need to just need to hook on the attachment for baseboards and do them. But I don't want to.
I need to finish my quilt blocks and find someone with an embroidery machine. I'll feel so much better when I've gotten the next step in the project done. And then I'll get down time to work on the tiny, adorable baby quilt that is next in the queue.
