When my sister was pg with her 2nd, I was convinced without a doubt that it was a girl. She was sick almost every day, and it was such a different pregnancy for her than her first (no sickness, no nothing). I was shocked when she told me they found out it was a boy. I was hoping the doctor was wrong and they'd give birth to a girl, but I love my little nephew. I loved him when I thought he'd be a girl and even more the day after he was born when I got to meet him
We'll find out the gender, I think it's just easier to know when you're picking out decor and clothing and stuff. I don't necessarily want pink or blue, but I have different themes in mind that gender could influence. I would like to keep names as a surprise, though. I don't want to start getting embroidered or monogrammed stuff (not my style), and I don't want people throwing name suggestions and opinions at us left and right when the time comes.

I like this. I hadn't thought about it, but you're right -if you announce the name everyone will give you stuff with the name on it. But I don't think that will stop people from giving you unwanted suggestions.

we definitely want to keep the names a secret. While we don't want anything with the baby's name on it, we really just don't want opinions.
As in opinions why they don't like the name. SIL/BIL announced their name before my neice was born, and a lot of the family flat out told them they didn't like it. ugh.
This happened to my cousin...and it's exactly why we won't be sharing, either.
I might share with you guys, though - but only if you promise to pretend to like the names even if you don't!
