Northern California Nesties
Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

PIP struggles. Help?

How do I PIP here? It appears to be more complicated than on TK. :/

Re: PIP struggles. Help?

  • Everyone does it different ways but I go to tinypic.com. Then I "browse" my photo and I set the size to "website/email" instead of the "default". Then upload, and copy and past the "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" into your post. Hope this helps. :)

  • Good to know. Thank you for this.

  • I use the picture of the tree next to the smiley face.  Upload to tinypic (or find elsewhere online) and use just the url that ends .jpg  I like that the tree lets me change the numbers for the size (but you can also click and drag the corners of the pic to rescale)
  • It's easiest if you use IE.  You can literally just copy from anywhere on the web and paste into the text box.  Voila!

In Firefox, you have to use the tree icon and paste the URL into the appropriate field.  You can also use the tree to change the size of the photo (you can just drag and drop the corners of the pic itself too.  In Firefox it will retain the aspect ratio, but in IE it won't so you have to be careful not to stretch or smoosh your pic too much).

I don't know about other browsers.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball
