Anyone teach online classes?
I am currently a stay at home mom but I was a third grade teacher for 7 years. I will not be going back this coming year because we moved right after my daughter was born (May 20) to another state to be closer to family. Right now my husband wants me to stay home but I am interested in teaching online classes. Anyone out their do this?? And if you do, anyone a mom? I would like to know how much time it takes and how it fits into your day. I would love to try it!

Re: Anyone teach online classes?
I do. Once I've taught the same class a few times it gets faster. I'm starting a brand new class next week and I'm thankful it is summer (I teach Kindergarten). Another class that I've taught many times takes me maybe 30 minutes to 2 hours a day with a longer day on the weekend for grading papers. I have no problem logging on and getting everything done once LO has gone to sleep. I actually had a class start when she was 3 weeks old and had no problems.
It does depend on the school you teach for and policies as far as a time commitment. Some schools require you to have virtual lectures and "office hours" ie. you have to be online during certain times. In my case we are asynchronous with deadlines being midnight, but students have anywhere in the 24 hours to login to complete requirements. Expectations for discussion participation will also vary by school.

What are you looking at?
You might consider tutoriting online.
You also might want to consider what you want, rather than saying "my husband wants me to stay home" and accepting it.
