thoughts on nursery ideas? PIP
Alright ladies, one of the first things I wanted to get done was get an idea for how we want to decorate the nursery. Recently, I found this bedding that I'm about to show you and loved it. It works for the whole team green thing and the decor I have picked out goes well with the room we're using as it's a pretty open and sunny room. Let me know what you think or if you have any ideas of what I could change and/or add. TIA!!

Love it, but I may not be an impartial 3rd party considering I am currently in the process of sticking a cherry blossom tree decal up at the moment. LOL
What wall color are you thinking of doing?
I'm thinking a soft green or yellow. Rusty wants green since our bedroom in the old house was a lighter green and he "misses it". Not entirely sure yet...what do you think would look better?
Super cute!
Here's a PIP of the quilt for ya:

I looooove green rooms, and if our bedroom hadn't been green I might have thought about for the nursery.
Yellow could be good though because there is a lot of green in everything else.
I love the theme!
I would go with green. I read somewhere that babies cry more in rooms with yellow walls.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I love green also, but I don't want it to be too over-whelming. I ordered fabric swatches from the company to see exactly what colors are in the bedding. I'm hoping maybe that will help us make a decision.

Absolutely adorable, I love it. And I love the you are my sunshine picture, my mom used to sing that to me all the time (and up until I moved out too!).
I have heard the same thing Brie, not specifically to babies, but adults, yellow rooms make you anxious or something (can't remember)...my bedroom used to be yellow and our kitchen is so I don't know if I agree but you never know!
And, you could also easily genderize (made it up!) that room if you wanted to, once the baby arrives.
Dude where was this information when we were picking wall colors!! Sonofabitch. I actually feel so much more calm when in the nursery, here's to hoping the baby feels that energy from me.

Have we seen pictures yet Lockit? Or are we waiting for the decal to be up?
Like I said, I've heard that about yellow walls but I've heard its supposed to do something to adults too and you haven't found that to be true so maybe it's bunk
or maybe it's not your shade of yellow

Love everything you've got so far! I would definitely say either yellow or green would work. You could do a combo, green on the top with a chair rail or stripe of some sort and then yellow on the bottom. Or do most of the room green with one accent wall in yellow.
Lockit- How's the decal going? I know it tood my cousin and I two full afternoon's to get her's done. And the flowers were the most time consumer so I'm sure that is taking a while for you. Can't wait to see the finished product!

adorable!
and FWIW, the majority of z's room is yellow and she doesn't cry much at all. so i don't hold the yellow theory true. and my kitchen walls are yellow and we aren't irritable people because of it :P
IMO, yellow is a happy color

I am planning on gettng pictures tonight when I am done with the decal or tomorrow. There is a ton of green in the room so we have pink flowers on the tree, and pink curtains, I am just worried that the sheers we got are going to be too light now. It's really coming together though and I am pretty excited.
I will throw my bump in the pic too, though I would imagine since it really hasn't changed and it will be a boring bump pick.
Hi Teresa! I actually replied in my old decal post because holy cow it is soooo time consuming. Those stupid flowers tear easily if you get rolling and forget to be careful. I am trying to get my placement right because I am not doing it exactly like the picture due to where the crib will be and the tree not being as high as it should have been (I didn't request the 'free' trunk extension which I guess you have to or they don't send it and just don't have enough time to wait).
*Autumn* sorry for monoplozing your thread, I cannot wait for you to start working on your nursery so we can see pics.
You're not monopolozing anything, girl! I love hearing how yours is coming along. I can't wait to see it...and beginning to second guess the decal idea. I'm such a perfectionist and can just see myself getting frustrated with trying to apply it! haha
I still think you should do it. Yeah it's time consuming but the effect is pretty awesome. I am not even a huge fan of decals but I think they can really bring a nursery together. They are just so darn cute.
Our nursery is a very soft yellow, and it's very bright and cheerful during the day. In our next home, I plan on painting her room the same exact color.
And I love that bedding! and all the room accessories!! It's a very cute, and not overdone, theme.
