So, DH & I saw the movie "Horrible Bosses" last weekend. I highly recommend it! Kevin Spacey was awesome in it and the whole thing was great comic relief.
Back to reality Monday morning this week, it kind of depressed me that I have a horrible boss too, only, the *bad* things about her aren't actually funny like in the movie. Just some things that she does to share:
- Walks around the office speaking VERY loudly on her cellphone on personal calls & rambles on & on to anyone who will "listen" about her drunk (ex?) DH and screwed up life.
- Talks about everyone behind their backs & tries to pit everyone against eachother.
- Comes in late everyday and leaves VERY early (only works 4-6 hrs/day) but yet has a problem w/anyone who is 15 min late. My favorite is when she leaves extra early (shave off 1-2 hrs from her 'typical' work day) when a holiday and/or weekend is approaching and as she's leaving says something cold like, "Bye everyone! Have a nice holiday - oh, and make sure you do x, y & z....".
- Never has work to us on time, is highly disoprganized and then distributes our work at 3pm on a Friday and expects everything done right away.
- Calls in sick literally 4x a month and has the most brilliant lies...
- The clincher, could not even 'bother' herself with even RSVP'ing to my bridal shower and/or wedding and didn't even give me a card or Congratulate me. When I returned from our wedding/honeymoon back to work, she told me I was working the Holiday. Thanks.
Does anyone else have horrible boss stories? Comments?? C'mon, make me feel like I'm not alone! ![]()
Re: Horrible Bosses
I had one who:
- After telling us we "drove" and employee to quit. It was completely our fault apparently she walks out of the office and shuts off the lights leaving the rest of us in the dark.
- She NEVER approved time off and wouldn't let me go to a doctor's appointment even after I told her it was because I might have cancer.
- Wrote me up for wearing sandals during lunch and told me I was showing my mid-drift and when I asked her for examples her response was, "I don't remember, but I know it happened."

I had a boss who ran a law practice out of her basement. She would come home and literally scream at me but the next day, act like I was her best friend and tell me all kinds of personal stories.
She was in major mid-life mode. She was having an affair and I knew long before her husband because I would check her voicemail once in awhile. ?lso, not only did I work as her secretary, I had to watch her kids from time to time (while working as her secretary). She also liked to point out everyday how smart she was and how dumb everyone else was.
She ended up getting divorce while I was working there. Every job since that one has seemed so easy.
my boss is pretty good.. she likes our office like a sweat shop (no stop working, or cell phones or visiting w each other) stupid rules like that but i like how she leaves everyday btwn 2-3 so at least the afternoons are loose. well, last week, i get to work and had to go to the bathroom, ok out of the 5 years I have been there, my boss decides to go in the bathroom while i am on the pot and scream over the door for me to hurry up and get back to work. i nearly quit on the spot. LOL!
my fiance said i should have... and i was pissed. i ranted and ranted and she never apologized. jeez...... if she will try that again..try me!? yeah...
