10 days ago I had an interview for a full-time salesperson position at a luxury leather good store. Everything went well but I've heard nothing from them yet. I was thinking of contacting the store manager who did the intervew on Monday for a status report.
I know that this is the slow season for hiring in retail so that might be 1 reason for the lack of response, but the waiting is making me nervous.
Also one of the questions asked was what my salary requirements would be. Stupidly, I didn't prepare for this. I replied $15/hour. The job comes with a bonus. Now I'm worried that I froze myself out of the position because I asked for too much $$. If I get a chance to talk to the interviewer should I tell him that my salary requirements are flexible. I can live with $13/hr.
Re: When to follow up?
Did you ask when you should expect to hear from them?
Monday sounds fine.
I would just ask how flexible the salary is.
