Question for moms, teething

So, I know Samuel is teething. He has been fussy somedays and has not been eating sometimes. I took him to the Pedi last week because he threw up, but she thought it was either a virus, but more than likely teething. Poor baby is always chewing on his fingers or hand. He does not like teething rings either. He even quit taking his paci (which he only took sometimes) all together to just suck his thumb. He was sleeping through the night, but now wakes up not to eat by just to toss and turn and whine.

Any Suggestions?? TIA

Re: Question for moms, teething

  • we give A fozen carrots to nosh on. We also broke down and bought him an amber teething necklace for days, totally worth the $16 bucks! My friends swear by freezing bananas or watermelon in a mesh feeder and then letting LO suck/chew on it. Try a frozen wet washcloth too!

    good luck!

  • We hate teething here too. Eli is getting his molars. He loves chewing celery or carrots that have been frozen. Last night I gave in and gave him teething tabs which seemed to help. But he too just prefers fingers both his and mine.

  • I am in the minority here, but I always gave Maggie motrin when she had bad teething days. It helped ease her pain the best and for the longest period of time. None of the other remedies works (cool things to chew on etc). GL!
