Garage Sale over now what
While I think it did well at my garage sale, I still have quite a few clothes left. Is it worth it to pick some to take to Once Upon a Child or other kids consignment stores? Besides Goodwill are there other places that take clothes? DH suggested I call YESS. I don't really get a 'feel good' feeling when I take stuff to Goodwill. We have to make a trip there anyway but wouldn't mind making a second trip to another organization.
Re: Garage Sale over now what
If Once Upon a Child is anything like Me and Mommy to be, I wouldn't recommend consigning it. They're picky about what they take and you don't get much for it.
There is always the DAV.

I think they'll even come pick them up from you. Just give them a call and leave the stuff on your front door step.
I like Once Upon a Child more than any other consignment shop. Right now they are taking fall/winter clothes. I took a bin full and they 'bought' quite a bit.
I second DAV. We do almost all our donating to them because we are a military family. Its also really, really convenient that they will pick up from my doorstep!
I'm not sure where in Des Moines you could find one, but I'd suggest a women's shelter/safe house.
We have a shelter here that requests children's clothing too because when a woman gets a chance to leave, she certainly isn't going to leave her children.
