I have never been to a Drive-in (sad I know) & we are thinking about going to one next week. After doing some Googling I only found 2 local ones (is that right? or am I missing some). If you have been to ether/or both what one do you like better? Any helpful hits?
The 2 I found were
Cattage View Drive-in http://www.manntheatresmn.com/locations.php?lID=2
Vali Hi Drive in - http://www.valihi.com/
Thanks

Re: What Drive in is best?
I'm partial to Cottage View because I live 5 minutes from it. We also went every weekend when I was a kid. It is getting old and run down, but still serves its purpose. It may be the last year that it is open, Walmart is trying to buy the land.
I've been to Vali-Hi quite a few times, but not in recent years. It is much busier than the Cottage View and they show 3 movies, where CV only shows 2. I have found that CV shows more family friendly movies and VH shows the newer, more popular movies.
Get there early, the lines start forming at about 6:30. You can bring a propane grill to make dinner and some yard games to stay entertained before the movies start.
You can bring in your own food and drinks, no need to spend a fortune at the snack bar.
I don't know what kind of vehicle you have, but we have an SUV and park with the back to the screen. We lean the back seat towards the front of the car and fill the back with pillows and blankets.
my read shelf:
That's sad. We went there when we were kids. Actually, the first movie I ever saw was there - ET.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
Thanks so much
BOOO for Walmart I think we will have to go this year then I do like the movies playing there better then VH. This might be a dumb question but is it really Buggy?
I prefer Vali Hi as well. I agree, the bathrooms are disgusting.. but I like the fact they play 3 movies, you can grill there and it's a usually friendly place!
you can grill at cottage view too.
I'm not partial to either. We used to frequent both, pre baby, and we always picked based on what was showing. We rarely, if ever, actually make it through all 3 movies at Vali Hi.
