What is everyone else up to this hot hot weekend?
We have no plans, apart from getting groceries tomorrow.
I think today I'll hit the gym, and then spend the rest of my time reading and working on my Mozart analysis. Mexican casserole for dinner!

Re: Weekend plans?
Last night we helped our friends move. Then we watched the series finale of Friday Night Lights
I'm so sad it's over.
Today: I'm working until noon-ish. Then we'll probably clean and help our friends move some more.
Sunday: We're going to go to Tulsa to see my mom. Her birthday is next weekend but we're going to be in Colorado so we're celebrating a week early.

Well, I had hip surgery Thursday, so my days have been spent alternating icing and time in the passive motion machine. But, we do have friends and family coming over to bring us dinner and hangout tonight and tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to that!
Today I'm breaking my "no working on weekends" rule because I just don't see any other way to accomplish everything I need to this week. Damn my idea for weekly in-class essays being a time saver...they would have been when I thought about 12 students would sign up for the class. When it filled within the first couple of weeks, I was sunk
So, I'm editing a research paper that my coauthor and I need to get out, writing a quiz on gay and lesbian police officers, and venturing out to buy dog food.
It's no party, that's for sure. But I'm doing really well!
We had a low-key weekend. Yesterday I caught up on some reading, then we grilled out.
Today I went swimming at the gym, then hung out in my kiddie pool.
Now I'm cleaning and doing laundry.
We spent the day at the lake yesterday. We had a great time with the future in-laws boating, tubing, and playing on waverunners. There is clearly one spot on my back on each side that I can't reach with sunscreen though. It's ouchie.
Today we drove back to OKC and spent some time at the park. Good weekend overall!
Yesterday H and I went to breakfast at Cafe Kacao, it's this new-ish Guatemalan place on Classen. It's delish! We cleaned the house a bit after, and then my parents came to hang out. We took them to Iron Starr for dinner and rented 'The Fighter' (which was fantastic, if you haven't seen it yet).
Today we took the 'rents to breakfast at Beverly's, I got my hair did, we watched 'Pure Country' for old times sake (so terrible) and we did a little yard work until it was painfully obvious that even after the sun is technically down, it's too f*cking hot to do anything. Tonight I watched 'The Business of Being Born' and am still pretty freaked out. Damn informative documentaries.
Evidentally the major theme of my weekend was eating and movies.
I hostessed a bridal shower on Saturday which was somewhat pure drama, although the drama was mostly my internal drama, not any real outside drama and yesterday DH and I did NOTHING. I started reading by the pool at around 10am - he watched golf - then he came out with me at around noonish and we played around until around 3. I napped. Then we finally ate around seven. Meaning, we hadn't eaten ANYTHING all day because this wife (and that husband) was too damn tired to get into the kitchen.
Dasher even realized that we were super lazy and she was such a good puppy and didn't tear anything up. She laid out in the pool with me most of the day, such a lazy puppy with her little doggie noises.
I spent Friday in OKC and went out for a friend's birthday [BJs and then the clubs]. That was fun, and their beer selection is fantastic.
Saturday, we had family pictures in Stillwater, then went shopping in OKC. My parents decided to shower my sister and I with our Christmas gifts early and bought me an iPad 2 and my sister a MacBook Pro. I've been playing on that thing since I got it. We put my car in the shop for a tune-up, too, so I'm pimpin' my mom's Town and Country this week. Sexay.
Yesterday was lazy day...we sat around and watched movies. I haven't been feeling well the past few weeks [my doc thinks my gallbladder may be going bad, but none of the test results are back yet], and I definitely felt like crap Saturday night and Sunday morning. I can't wait to figure out what's going on.
