Re: tonsil removal and sleep study and ent dr ?'s

  • nice picture, I could think of a few other names with a hat like that. Wink
  • I was 3 years old when I had mine removed, a million years ago. Both kiddos still have theirs. No sleep studies, no clue who the doc is.
  • 1.  3 years, 5 months.  She had a virus in January (likely tonisllitis) that caused her tonsils to swell to the center with just a small breathing pocket.  The first ENT we saw wanted to wait until she was 5.  Our regular ENT wanted to do it ASAP.  After the surgery, the ENT said they were "huge" and waiting would not have been an option.

    2.  No, we just went ahead and removed adenoids at the time to avoid any further sleep apnea issues.

    3.  What clinic?  The name is not familiar.

Trust... best thing I have ever done for my child (other than tubes).  Wait until 5?? That guy was on crack!

  • Got nothing for you on 1 & 2, but we're pretty partial to Dr Farrell.  He did the surgery to remove the popcorn kernal from Noah's ear.  :)  He also is Christian's soccer coach, and his boys go to school with our boys..his wife and my DH also went to HS together...in Fargo!  (small world!)

*EDIT*  just wanted to add that before we knew all of the above about him, he was the actual Dr that we were referred to at Urgent Care where we went for the 'foriegn body', aka popcorn seed, removal.  A coworker of mine also takes her daughter to him, and he did her tubes and her toncil/adenoids removal.

He's with ENT specialists in Regency
