With this week's hot, hot, heat, I can use some inspiration!

Sunday- Pizza

  • The Dude cooked a turkey yesterday so we had that last night.

    Not sure in which order these things will be eaten but we have:

    chicken breast - skin on, bone in. we typically bake this and then have corn or couscous with it.

    skinless boneless breast - since its going to be hot, we'll probably grill them with maybe pasta and salad.

    other than that, i've got nothing. i need new recipes. i'm in a lull.

  • I have way too much zucchini in the house. I think I'm going to freeze some of it for use in fall soups in a few weeks. 

    Made watermelon gazpacho over the weekend, so I will probably have that for dinner tonight.

    BLTs tomorrow night.

    I have to use up greens, green beans, and cherry tomatoes this week, so I will probably make some "kitchen sink pasta" one night. 

  • We had jerk chicken, corn on the cob and sweet potato fries last night. 

    Our grill died yesterday, so that changes a good deal of my ideas until we can get a new one.  We paid $100 for it in 2006, so I think we got our money's worth!

    In no particular order:

    breaded oven-fried pork cutlets, mac/cheese, zucchini

    pasta with sundried tomato pesto and shrimp, salad

    chicken salad club sandwiches

  • Tonight - baked Indian-spiced tofu and this awesome curried cous-cous that I am going to try with quinoa instead.

    Tomorrow - chicken sausages on the grill with grilled veggies and a salad

    Wednesday - softball game, so probably eating out afterwards. If not either leftovers or a flatbread pizza from the freezer.

    Thursday -  chicken on the grill probably with hopefully some veggies from our csa.

    Friday - not sure, depends on csa ingredients.

  • its a short cook week for us...

    Sunday was grilled filet, tomato salad, baked potatoes

    Last night I tried chicken breast stuffed with garlic and herb laughing cow cheese and i wrapped it in bacon, more for flavor. baked about an hour, it came out delicious. alone wth zucchini and rice

    tonight is inside out burgers, fries and a salad

    tomorrow, dinner at my favorite seafood joint in Somers Point and then we will be at the shore so no real cooking. although i may do crabs and gravy one night with some steamed shrimp
