So how did moving in go?  Are you guys feeling a little better about things?

I can't believe you're still in some of your regular clothes.  I'll still wear bigger t-shirts and old boxers to bed, etc., and the occasional skirt w/ very elastic waist-band, but other than that I haven't worn non-maternity clothes in weeks!

Oh, and if DH can't register w/ you, do you have a friend who could?  I took my sister w/ me (who has 3 kids) and it was really helpful.  I did the wedding registry by myself - and it was exhausting.  It was much nicer to have someone to bounce ideas off of for the baby registry.

Re: **kristinandbill**

  • I am SO glad that the move is over.  That's SO MUCH on our minds that's finally just done. We're not done unpacking but we can do that at our own pace now!

I didn't work last week so I wore the same pair of shorts and old t-shirts all week long.  And the week before consisted of the same pair of pants twice and a couple of dresses.  So I was still wearing regular pants with belly bands and maternity shirts.  But I couldn't keep stretching it any longer.  Even my belly band was getting too small.

I do have a couple of girlfriends that can go with me.  I was thinking of going with DH first for the big things - car seats, furniture, etc.  And then going back with a friend for the details.  I was also hoping to be able to do a lot of it online so that I could research as I go.

Thanks for the advice!  I CANNOT believe how quickly it's going!  I don't want to rush it but feel like October will be here before we know it...yikes!

Kristin, I saw your comment about wearing regular clothes and it made me insanely jealous.  I haven't worn regular pants since like week 16. There are a *few* regular shirts I can fit into, but they are questionable over my belly.  I bought a lot of maternity tanks and stuff and I wear them with my regular sweaters over them.  And dresses are my best friend these days.

DH did not go register with me...registering with him for the wedding was painful enough.  I took my friend and she was SO helpful.  Then I came home and read a ton of reviews and fine tuned it.  Then I had my cousin with a 3 month old offer me her advice.  I think I am finally done with it, phew.  My shower is 9/18 and invites are going out 8/7 so I still have time.

It sounds like you are loving lake living Kristin -- so happy that it all worked out for you!

  • Oh, I've been wearing the same like four outfits over and over. People at work probably think I'm gross.  And these four outfits includes me wearing one pair of pants twice.  Ha!  But no more.  A friend of mine let me borrow a few items but most of them are still a little big but better than the alternative.  I just have to go shopping now to fill in the gaps.  The thing is that I'd MUCH rather be spending money on house/baby stuff than on maternity clothes.  Humph!

I was kinda thinking that taking DH registering with me would help him get ready, learn a little more about what a baby entails, etc.  Kinda help him get in the frame of mind if that makes sense.  So I've kinda been insisting that he go with me.  But we are taking a parenting class so maybe that's enough?  Hmmm....you're making me think that I just might be better on my own - with a girlfriend.  Good perspective girls!

jhobel, can't WAIT to see your kitchen!  Sounds like it'll really be coming together this week!

  • Kristin -- do you have pics of the house??

Jenni -- how did the furniture turn out?  Pics?

How are both of you feeling?  I am really starting to feel the pregnancy in my body.  It's getting harder to move around and I feel like I am moving in slow motion sometimes.  The heat is a killer -- if I stay in a/c, I am fine.  But if I go outside, I really start to feel it in my hands/feet.

DH and I are wrapping up the house projects.  I am really trying to help him out wherever I can, but I'm limited.  I spent the weekend taping walls for painting (we are painting 3 rooms), cleaning floors, making trips to Lowe's to get what he needs, etc.  He does the hard work, heavy lifting, and painting.  He says I am being a big help by doing all that crap work, but he might just be saying that so I don't feel completely useless.

  • We are really pleased with how the furniture turned out.  DH took some pics, I'll try to upload them tonight.  How has taping been for you?  I did pretty good around the doors and windows, but when I tried to tape off the trim around the floor my belly completely got in the way!  I just couldn't lean over that far.

I'm feeling really pretty good.  I have a little bit of heartburn, but not horrible.  There are times when I have trouble getting out of bed or off the couch, but I've been working on kind of rolling out of bed and it's been easier.  I feel huge (even though I'm not horribly big) and can't believe its going to keep getting bigger for 3 more months!

And I'm feeling the baby all of the time.  I swear it just swims in circles for 10min at a time.  So much movement!  It actually hurts me almost everyday when it pounds on me in the same spot for a while.  It's pretty crazy how fast its going by!

  • Oh yea, I'm really starting to feel the pregnancy too.  There are just times, usually late in the day, where I'm just slow.  The growing pains in my belly have gone away for the time being, which is great. And my belly still seems managable to me.  But like you said, I can't believe that I'm going to get bigger.  I am starting to get more scared/nervous about the growing process and how it will effect my everyday and my poor skin....

But overall I'm still feeling good.  DH has been SO AWESOME during this move and has taken on so much of the responsibility himself.  I mean I guess that's the way it has to be right now but I feel bad that I'm not helping out more.  Or he'll be outside working and I'll do a bunch of work inside and then need him to come in and move a few things or ask him to do a couple things that I've been avoiding or working around.  I feel so bad always asking him for stuff like that.

It seems like we're all scrambeling right now to get projects done that we want completed before babies arrive!
