Jason and I decided that we want to go to Cozumel in October. We had an awesome time on our honeymoon and have been dying to go back since our planned landed 2 years ago.
We booked our honeymoon through a travel agent and felt like we got a good deal but I want to explore more options this time since I actually have time without all the other wedding craziness.
Who do you book your trips through? If you have any other tips or money saving travel advice, I'd love to hear those too!
Thank you!
Re: Vacation advise
I usually go through priceline, or orbitz. You can create your own vacation through them with hotel, airfare, or rental car if need be. That has always been cheaper for me. I compare all the different sites and pick the best deal. I also use Ebates.com and booking through them can add up. You get a percentage of what you spend back. The last trip I took I got 4% back on my entire trip. It's not a ton of money but every little bit helps.
I also use tripadvisor.com to check out hotels and reviews.
We either use the chain's booking agent online (we go to Palace Resorts) or Expedia. This year, Expedia's prices in comparison to Palace's were much better and we were able to build the trip that we wanted. Does your resort have a member's club? If so, sometimes some members sell select weeks online for discounted prices. Can't say how that goes since we haven't tried it (and will probably just become members ourselves), but I've read on the Trip Adivsor forums that some people get good steals that way.
We're probably going to stay at Cozumel Palace again. I'll check into the prices with there booking agent and see how they compare.
Thanks for the ebates tip, I agree every bit helps! I'll check out Priceline and orbitz too.
