Re: Munchkin Monday
I have a lot. All from this past weekend on our Michigander bike tour.
Enjoying some blueberries at a farm along the trail.
Hanging in the tent.
Asleep after about 5 minutes in the bike trailer on the second day of the tour.
Henry is pushing limits like crazy. Willa's picked up *ahem* someone's habit of saying, "what the..." and we had to have a discussion about it at dinner. Jim explained that the phrase is like saying "what the hell" which is adult language, and that when she shouldn't really be saying "what the..."
The next morning, Henry gave me a good morning hug and said, "good morning, what the hell." Then he laughed his head off.
I kind of did too.
Willa has started swimming all over the inlaws pool without her life jacket. I'm about a foot away from her. I think it's giving me an ulcer. My five year old is swimming above 12 feet of water. Gulp.
#1's slumber party was this past weekend. It went really well. There were 8 girls in total and they all got along pretty well. They ended up going to bed around 1am and got up at 9am so no complaints here! Among the details from the party were Twister, cootie catchers, disco party complete with strobe and colorful disco lights, trampoline time, rainbow cake, rainbow pancakes, trix/rice krispies treats, and an outdoor movie with popcorn. Today is her actual birthday and we are hoping to take all three of them to a local fair. They all really loved the rides at the last one we went to so I'm hoping this time I can get some shots of the fun. #1 got a diary from her Grandma so she has been writing in that and can read through an entire "chapter book" during daycare. They also get to play with a Wii at daycare so she loves the dance game too. She would love a DS but we're not ready for it just yet and not sure if we ever will be. So, she got some stuff for her AG doll and a new gymnastics leotard and bathing suit.
#2's Airplane birthday party went really well too. We had 3 other boys and a couple older sisters and cousins. It was quite the whirlwind with 5 year old boys (a lot different from girls). They had watergun fights, trampoline time, a game where they threw airplanes off of our deck, a game where they found airplanes in the clouds like an air traffic controller, and then a game where they popped balloons to see what was inside. They had blue jet fuel to drink and pretzels with the ends covered in orange candy to represent those things the ground controllers use to direct the planes. Pete got a light saber from his older cousin and loved it probably more because it was from his older cousin. And he got a new Spiderman backpack for kindergarten. He is now wearing waterwings in the pool and doesn't mind putting his head in the water. He loves making the rafts boats (his newest obsession). He got to ride on a pontoon, kayak, and a canoe a few weekends ago.
#3 Is also doing great in the pool. It takes him awhile to get used to the idea, but once he does, he has a lot of fun. He likes to sit in the raft with #2 or have someone push him around the pool. All of them LOVE millenium park. I think it is a little less intimidating than the big lake or the ocean so they feel very comfortable playing on the beach there. He is also learning to be a great instigator of his older brother and sister so you can imagine the chaos that ensues from that. He has a great imagination and makes sound effects like a pro (complete with drool running down his chin). He can run around the house for hours pretending he is a plane or something else.
We have this same exact problem too!
We have this same exact problem too!
He is getting so big!
Tell me about it! I need to have you take some pictures of us before he's off to college!
OMG! Those eyes!!!!
I would never even think of bringing a little guy on something like this so good for you!
My oldest nephew used to do this when he was about Willa's age. He first went through a phase of saying "What the heck?" all.the.time, and then switched it to "what the..." but he grew out of it (or his mom trained him out of it).
I was told by 2 different women that I was very brave! Hahaha. We took our time and let him run around at the stops. He handled it really well.
K is doing awesome. He's now started to cover mine and H's faces to play peek-a-boo. He also loves to give High Fives. We've taken him to the play area at Rivertown Mall. He hasn't been around other kids much, so the interaction is good for him. He's done well with them.
I'd upload new pictures, but my camera cord was left on the east side of the state when we were there for K's party.

Tigers, it sounds like the parties were a hit! Great job! I really enjoy reading your updates.
Hoek, how long was the trip? Do you guys pack stuff in the trailer to keep him busy when scenery isn't enough? Our Henry gets restless back there sometimes. Looks like he had a great time.
GoodG: He's getting so darn big. Cutie!
The ride was 48 miles round trip. We always give him food, a water bottle, books, and little toys. And a cuddle friend because he sometimes falls asleep. He normally eats his food right away, flips through a book and then just relaxes. He is a chill boy in the trailer. For now.
Thanks - because I continue to have major writer's block & major memory failure which leads to major guilt for forgetting important details, which leads to major beating self up. Some day I will get over this!
Oh my goodness, your kids are all adorable! I am soooo seriously bad about getting my pics from my camera to my computer...and I do not know how to post my pics from my phone...so no new pics here.
Noah is getting so big! He rang in at 24 lbs. 3.5 oz. at his 9 month appointment. I am in love with his chunkiness. He has been so fun lately. He has been smiling a "crinkly eye" smile a lot and when he does it, he knows he is cute. I have also created a carb lover....I had given him a piece of wheat toast the other day...now he is seriously addicted. He SCREAMED today at breakfast...I gave him some toast and he looked up, stopped crying and smiled his "I am so cute" smile, and gobbled it up. Crying started all over again when it was gone. Oh boy!
Mere is talking in complete sentences. Non stop. Like a small adult. It's hilarious.
Since the theme seems to be swimming, I will share that Mere prefers to kick herself around my parents' pool using only floaties. "I dood it by mahsewf!" She does a fabulous job (of course, there is an adult next to her at all times).
She will be 2 on Saturday. *tear* She talks about her "bit-day pah-ty" constantly. "Ever-body tum to mah hoooooowse fo' mah bit-day pah-ty."
)
Oh man, so darn cute!! She's gonna have a blast!

Oh, I thought of one more thing I thought was hilarious.
My FIL brought over a giant bouncing "rocking" horse that he found and repainted for Mere. Mere, of course, named it Bullseye (like on Toy Story 3). She climbed up on the horse, started bouncing and yelled, "Woohoo! I'm JessieMereMere!" Lol!
I think that, given your natural talents and interest, your details are captured visually and not verbally. But, if you google "munchkin monday" and tigers, I'll bet you'll find an archive of details. Also, stop beating yourself up. You're rocking the balance thing.
A late jump in, but hey why not!
We were up in the UP the past four days, and we decided to go in the basin area of the lower Tahquamenon falls. There you are able to rent rowboats to take you across to another walking path, or you can just row and/or fish.
A wanted to fish really bad so DH and I got a one day pass and took her. She did a great job.......until......She was under the watch of DH at the time, my back was turned to him and her. He just looked down to fix the worm on his hook, and without any type of warning, no clue, I heard a splash, I screamed "oh My Gosh! What happened to Allie" by the time I said that I had one arm scooped her back into the boat. She was dreanched and crying from me yelling at her. I knew she was fine, there is no way she will go in a boad or near water without a lifejacket.
At the time it was scary and I was ticked, because she DOES NOT FOLLOW ANY TYPE OF DIRECTIONS!!!! and this is what happened. I am very thankful nothing bad happened.
also, I wish she would get out of the phase of screaming her answers (in a fun manner not disrespectrul) and she stoped her side eye when she doesn't like something that is said.
We had a great weekend, and that was the scariest highlight of our trip. At least now we can look back and laugh about it.
