Favorite kids books?

My favorite book when I was little was The Last Puppy. My mom just gave Carly a copy <3 Three Little Kittens was another favorite; my grandmother used to read this to us.

One of my favorites of Carly's books is The Going to Bed Book.

Re: Favorite kids books?

  • We've got a ton of Dr. Seuss going on in our house - JJ's favorite book is Dr. Seuss' ABC book. We read it just about every night, and he's started reciting the book with me [and, it's helped him learn his ABCs!].

One of my faves was Dr. DeSoto - I bought a copy for JJ a few weeks ago, and we read it for the first time last week. He really liked it.

  • The Polar Express. Absolute favorite.

  • My favorite was The Sneetches & Other Stories (Dr. Seuss), with Roly Poly Puppy as a close second.
  • Are You My Mother?  was my favorite.

I also love the The Going to Bed Book.  Sandra Boynton (sp?) books are great.

  • I was all about the Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Giving Tree.
  • I'm a huge Dr. Suess fan! I have a huge tote full of kids books at my parents house that I need to bring here, but there's so many that we'll probably have to build a bookcase for Derelle. He loves books so much! I hope he loves to read like his mommy!! :)

  • I had a few Sesame Street books I loved (especially Grover Sleeps Over). Nate loves The Going to Bed Book, The Big Red Barn, Dinosaur Roar, and anything with Elmo.

  • I was all about the Berenstein Bears. I think we had every single book ever written. My parents gave them all to my nephew when he was born. I so wish they had kept them for my kids!

There was a Grover one my sister loved - Monster at the End of This Book, or something to that effect. Do you guys have that one?

I don't think so...The other ones I remember are Every Morning at Playgroup (starring Big Bird I think) and Where's My Blankie? (starring Malcolm Monster - I don't remember him in the show).

  • The Very Hungry Caterpillar (my sister and I always laughed when we got to the fat page), Let's Grow a Garden (my Dad and I always read this together and still say the phrase at the end of the book to each other. They saved it and gave it to me at my baby shower - I cried!), Love You Forever (My Mom cried everytime she read this to us. Now, I'll probable cry when I read it to Margot), If you give a Mouse a Cookie, Pat the Bunny, Stone Soup, The Princess and the Pea, and Dr. Seuss books. I had a lot of favorites :)
