Sorry for two posts in a row but I have a lot going on in the job search world and have been out of it too long to know how to behave!
I had a 2nd interview on Wed of last week. I sent thank you emails the same day, and one person replied with a "nice meeting you" kind of response. Is it too soon to check in with them and ask when they expect to make a decision? I really want to know when to expect to hear something, but I also feel like whether I follow up or not isn't going to change their decision.
If I do follow up, what do I say? It seems needy to me to say "just wondering when you expect to have a decision!" Also, do I send it to the associate who I sent my resume to initially (per their request), or to the partner in charge of final decision making.
Re: ...and one more question
IMO, yes, it's too soon. Did you not ask when you'd hear something?
If/when you follow up, i'd do it with the decision maker

I definitely think it's too soon. If you don't hear anything by the end of this week, then I'd follow up with the decision maker.
As far as how to phrase it, I'd say something like, "I wanted to check in to ensure there was nothing else you needed from me. I remain enthusiastic about the possibility of joining your team and look forward to learning the next steps in the process."
