Re: *BMW*

"if you get on the nest today before i reply to buckswife can u just let her know that my gma is still here. doing much better than i was led to believe. i'll do a better update later but my phone is being really difficult and will no longer let me post on the nest."
Thanks for being my receptionist MD!
I've been at my Grandma's for most of the day and well into the evening since Friday. Her house is like a black hole for cell reception and my lovely POS Fascinate is acting up again.
She was up and out of bed every day except for today. She was sleeping for about 17 hrs but then having a good solid 7 hrs of being up and alert. She was getting up between 2pm- and 4pm. Not always coherent but always conversational and happy to pick at any sweets sat in front of her. She did the best the first hour or two after she woke up. Knowing who people are, acknowledging her circumstances, and being fun to be around. Then as the day wore on and we gave her more morphine along with her sun-downing she'd get confused, agitated and in pain.
Today I got down there a little after 11am and I was surprised to see she was already awake for the day. My dad still had her in bed but she was playing with a bowl of rice pudding. The home health aide got there about 3pm to give her a bath and that really took the wind out of her sails. She got a couple doses of morphine back to back then. The hospice nurse came shortly there after and did her assessment. She was floored to find out that she had been up and out of bed over the last 3 days. I had some concerns about my family being too conservative with the pain meds (she went one day 20 hrs with getting a does of morphine!!). She made it clear that even if she is sleeping she could be in pain so we shouldn't let her go more then a few hours without getting something. She increased the pain meds and also said not to make her get out of bed anymore unless she specifically requested it. She said that they positioning of her tumor is probably making it very uncomfortable to sit up in a chair. At this point she has gone greater then 24 hrs without going to the bathroom and the nurse doesn't think she will anymore.
My brother is flying in tonight at 11:45 and will fly back out at 6pm tomorrow (at the tune of $600
). My grandmother is well aware that he is coming and I think that once he leaves she will let go. B is supposed to leave for the beach Thursday, and I am supposed to leave Sunday. My dad, his wife, their kids, and her family are supposed to leave for Maine on Thursday. We are all trying to make contingency plans. I have to work tomorrow and Wed. I told my aunt and my dad that is she passes on either one of those day from 7am-7pm I do not want to be notified. I've said good bye and I dont want to chance being stuck at work and knowing that she has passed. I will check in with them in the evenings. I'm not planning on going back down there until after work Wed night.
Sorry that was so long!!
