Gift ideas for 2 year old?
I need to get a b-day gift for my niece who is turning 2 and I have no clue what a good gift would be. I'm already getting a savings bond so looking for something she can play with now. Trying to stay under $75. Any ideas? If it helps, she loves playing outside.

Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
Re: Gift ideas for 2 year old?
Aiden has one of these & loves it. It can be used both inside & out.

Dose she live locally?
Here are a few other things Aiden loves

Memberships to Local events
push-able Trike
Step2 Play Up Adjustable Sand & Water Table
Little Tikes Cozy Coupe
Ian just turned 2 last week, and he got a sand/water table, and a trike, and loves them both!! He's also really into Cars right now, so he got 3 lightning mcqueens and plays with all three of them.
Is she into anything? Like Ni Ho Kia Lan or Dora???
My first thought was a water table (or sand & water table)
Otherwise I love these blocks http://www.tegu.com/ - but I might like them more than my kids do
and I 2nd the suggestion for a membership to the MN Zoo
or magnatiles are an insane hit on the mommy board I'm on http://www.magnatiles.com/ - the clear ones are the winner, I guess
BUT - when I was single I would often spend $50+ on my nieces/nephews and now that I'm a parent I try to keep it under $20 - so I think you could get away with something smaller. My normal go-to gift is a personalized beach towel (lands end has good sales) or a Stomp Rocket http://www.amazon.com/D-L-Company-20008-Rocket/dp/B0006O8Q7Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310951033&sr=8-1
Unless she "needs" something big, I wouldn't worry about spending a lot of money. Want to hear my daughters favorite gift from her 2nd birthday? A $4 kaleidoscope from Target.
Other good things, if you want to go big, are the trampoline with the handle and a water table.
Otherwise, stick to books, reusable sticker books and art supplies are fun
Little picnic table, toy grill, little lawn chair, sidewalk chalk or paint, wagon, little shopping cart, doll stroller, any of the classic toys like duplos, blocks, magnadoodle, art supplies.
Wow, look at all these ideas! Thanks.
She already has or is getting a lot of these things. The sand/water table looks really cool.
My sister and I ultimately decided to go in on a gift together. I'm going to make a dress up center from the Ana White website and we're gonna fill it with a bunch of fun clothes and accessories for her to play with. http://ana-white.com/2010/11/craftiness-is-not-optionals-dress-up-storage.html
I think I'll pick up some chalk that she can use in the driveway. I'm sure she'll love that.

That looks like so much fun & that is one very lucky girl
