Random-what time do you wake up?
During the week and on weekends? Is it the same time?
During the week I wake up sometime between 7 and 8 usually. On the weekends it is pretty much the same.
Re: Random-what time do you wake up?
10 pm is late! Ha ha ha.
I am so afraid of being up all night. Terrified really. I don't do well on little sleep.
The real bad, up every 2 hours stuff doesn't last long. But the time DS was a month old, he was only up twice a night. Now he's sometimes up once or twice, sometimes STTN. But I haven't done any kind of sleep training with him (obviously haha)
I think between the hormones and the elation, you don't miss the sleep so much. Do sleep in the hospital though- as much as you can. You will need that rest to be functional your first day home.
I remember the first night DS slept 8 or 9 hours, I was a zombie the next day. It was so weird to have slept that long at one time!
I wake up about 7. It really depends. When I lived in Boston I woke up at 530! The sun rises earlier up there and we were on the water, combined with having a very sunny apt, the place was just flooded in sunshine.
I try to have DH get me up when he does, around 6:30. On lazy days I let DD wake me up, which is somewhere between 8 and 9.
Weekends are more like between 8 and 9. No reason to get up at 6:30.
Our little Irish rose came to us on March 5, 2010
Don't drink the water.

On weekdays I'm up between 6:45-6:55am.
On weekends I am sometimes in bed up to 11am
I am a night owl.
We take the dog out early, so that he can go out twice before we go to work. So if it's my turn, (every other morning), I'm up around 4:30 for a quick walk and to feed him during the week. Weekends, he can usually hold it til 530 or 6. I totally go back to sleep, though, or try to, and I get up around 6:30/6:45 when I have to work. Weekends, I usually wake up between 7-8. Most of the time, I'm out of bed by 8:30, though sometimes I stretch it til 9.
Very true. The hard every few hours stuff didn't last very long and you kinda get used to it. Your body figures out how to compensate to make it work (also, take advantage of any help and opportunities for naps.) By 5 or 6 weeks she was sleeping for a good 6-7 hours straight and shes been sleeping for almost 11 hours straight since about 6 months. The only exceptions to that rule are a day or 2 just before she cuts a new tooth.
During the work week I usually got up around 6:00. Weekends and summer break I'm getting up between 6:30 and 7:30, usually closer to 7:00 because thats when Lil starts to wake up. Sometimes she even lets me sleep until 8:00 or 8:30 ... thats really nice!
During the week, if I'm taking a morning shower I'm up at 4:50am. If I shower at night, I'm up at 5:30am. I'm usually out the door for work arount 6:15.
On the weekends, I usually wake up between 8-10.
Why do you have to get up so early for earnings?! I thought only West Coast people had to do that (and people who cover the retail sector, if I recall correctly).
One of many reasons I could never handle the research side of things!
4:30 is super early!
Companies, at least the ones in my sector (Industrials), generally issue their press releases at around 6:00am/6:30am EST so I need to be in before that, especially when I have multiple companies releasing earnings in one day (like Thursday, when I have 5
).
I generally love the research side of things but earnings seasons are a killer!
Five?! Dude, how do you write up five reports in one day? And update the models, come up with new estimates...yikes.
It usually involves about a gallon of coffee, a few tears, and a 10pm declaration of "my brain is going to explode, I'll do the [#5 company] note tomorrow" which may or may not actually happen
LOL, love it!
How 'bout we meet for lunch after earnings are over? Early August?
When I was working, living in Natick and working in Natick, I was up by 7am. Once we moved and had an actual commute, DH had me up at 5:45 (we got to work 1/2 early). While I am currently unemployed, my schedule is messed up, I get up around 9 (probably closer to 10), even when I set the alarm for 7. And then of course, I can't sleep at night and I'm up until 1 or 2. Weekends can be anywhere from 7 to 9, depending on whether I get up when DH does (he's an early riser).
I'm going to need some serious adjustments once I find a job (and lots of coffee).

um, which time do you want? the times I wake up in the middle of the night (usually 3 and 5) or the time I wake up for work (7)?
And actually, my alarm goes off at 7, but I'm usually awake by 6:30 and I just lay in bed until it goes off.
It's no different on the weekends except I MIGHT actually sleep until 7:30 instead of 6:30.
definitely!
