Random: What size TV do you have in your bedroom?

We have an old 19 inch right now that's about ready to die. I thought about buying one for DH for his b-day since he's been begging me to get a new one forever. He thinks we need a 32 inch, but I think he's crazy. I'm perfectly fine with the 19 inch. Our current bedroom is pretty small, and I really only anticipate the bedroom in whatever new house we buy to not be *that* much bigger, so I don't think that there would be a need to have a much bigger TV for our bedroom in the new house...that and the fact that we really only watch the TV in our bedroom for maybe an hour a day, if that. So if you have a smaller TV in your bedroom, what size is it and do you think it's big enough? TIA! :)

  • No tv is our bedroom. We keep that room for other stuff. Smile But 32 seems big to me for a bedroom.

I only have a 13-inch TV, it's the same one my parents gave me for my 13th birthday, so it's huge as far as taking up space...  If I bought a new TV for my bedroom I might go slightly bigger, but I watch stuff on my computer more often than on the TV.

  • We have a 32 inch in our bedroom, but mainly because I considered it my sanctuary when stepson lived with us. I do like it though, we have it on a dresser at the foot of our bed and it doesn't seem big.  We also have a pretty ginormous bed, so it seems to fit...

Ditto this.  But don't think we don't love our tv watching, we have 6 tvs in other places in the house, just not the bedrooms.

As far as size, are we talking flat screen of some sort?  If so, 32 would be ok.  You don't want a huge honking 32'' tube tv in your bedroom.

  • No bedroom TV here either.  It was a big no-no in our premarital counseling sessions, and just last week I was listening to a radio program talking about the same thing.  Just sayin'.  :)

  • 26" flat screen. When we moved, I was content w/ the 19" that we had before. The 26" was in the living room. But Devon thought the 26" was tooooo small for the living room, so we got a 32" for the living room, and the 26" went in the bedroom. Though, I don't see a whole lot of difference between the tube style 19" and the flat screen 26" honestly.

  • 32" and it seems big, we could have easily gone with something smaller.

We have my 13 inch tv that I got with my detasseling money in 1996. We use it only for PBS in the morning while we get ready or in the evenings to play a dvd to calm Owen down. He gets overstimulated incredibly easily and a movie on very quietly, in the dark with nobody else around seems to help him regain control of himself.

  • Our bedroom TV is 42" and not my choice.  My husband can't deal without a TV in the bedroom and it made more sense to upgrade our living room TV and move the old one into the bedroom.  Its ridiculous and uneccesary and feels like a stinkin movie theatre screen but it works and it doesn't look totally crazy.  It's on our chest dresser.

  • None in ours. We watch tv in the living room and that is it.

  • Ours is the old 27" tube tv. When we got the flat screen for the living room we put that one in the bedroom. It is on top of a armoire in the corner so it doesnt look bad and doesnt take up any room.

  • I love laying in bed watching TV.  Ours is little, like not more than 19 inches I think.
  • We have a 32 inch, but only because our bedroom has a sitting area and DD watches TV there when we are getting ready in the morning.  If we finish our basement, we will probably move that TV down there and not replace it with anything.
  • I think ours is a 32". Our master is kind of a long room so our tv is quite a ways from the foot of our bed. It's inside an armoire, so we got the biggest flatscreen that would fit in there.

  • No bedroom TV here either. DH read a study one time that people with TV in their rooms had less, ahem, relations. So that was he end of the discussion there! I think the size of the TV depends on how far away it will be. I know I've seen charts before.

  • We dont anymore!  We used to have a 42 or 46" plasma, but we never used it.  I do however have a smaller tv mounted in my bathroom.  That is used daily :)
  • No tv in our room either but we used to have a 19 in one. J and I just didn't use it so we took it out. I thought 19in was plenty big especially in our size of a room. I did love the option of laying in bed watching it though...and truthfully kind of miss it!

As far as tv getting in the way of sex...I think that is the couples fault. You can make time for sex whether you have a tv in your bedroom or not!  Stick out tongue

  • We have a 27" flat screen.  It was mounted on the wall but we moved it (I regret that).  It's nice to wind down and watch the news/read before bed. I couldn't go without it.  Plus, it's easier to watch a movie in there if E's sick. He won't sit still on the couch.

  • 32" flatscreen...only because DH convinced me we needed a larger tv in the living room and we put our old one in the bedroom.  Before that it was a 20" tube tv that I had in my room at my parents house.

  • We have a 32, it was H's first flat screen and we didn't have anywhere else to put it when we bought our new tv.

  • 32" and it's the perfect size.  We bought right before E was born and love having it in the bedroom to watch news in the morning/night.

Also, great to have with Elsie when she climbs into our bed early on Saturday mornings, she can watch cartoons while we finish waking up.
