s/o shoes, when do they need them?
I know that there was a post about this about 6 mo to 1 yr ago. I have no retention of the details.
So - when does she start wearing shoes?

Re: s/o shoes, when do they need them?
To encourage walking, it is best to leave them barefoot as much as possible - they need to learn the feel of the ground underneath them. That's why I like the Robeez type shoes because they are very soft-soled
I kept them barefoot at home and in the summer, but if it was colder and we were going out I would use the Robeez (I started around 9 months maybe). I also hear good things about the Pediped brand

ditto Col on the barefeet. I started using pedipeds with JD around six months, more so to complete an outfit or because it was cold out. i found them cheaper on ebay too rather than paying the full $40-$50 price tag. also Gap has some super cute soft ballet type shoes right now- Anna may or may not have them in a variety of sizes and colors

Hey stranger! How are you?
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
I still keep him barefoot at home even though he's pretty good at walking. My ped said it's ok because it helps them get their footing better. When we go out I put him in shoes as long as he'll stand it. An outing with him usually ends up with me retracing our steps looking for a missing shoe.
When I did put him in shoes when he was younger it was because it was cold out. I asked my ped if I should get him a good soled shoe now that he's walking and he said it's not necessary so he wears mostly sandals when we go out but I bought him the sandals that strap around the ankle for more support.
much like his mother, milo would prefer to be barefoot for life, no socks no shoes.
however in the winter i force him in socks when we go out and this winter i assume he will walk and need shoes.
meldot...dont feel bad my blonde hair, blue eyed keira is BROWN in skin color. i cringe when she has to go to the pedi, so afraid he will lecture.
i my defense she has 50+ on anytime she is outside and i am ocd about reapplying but she keeps getting darker
Just wanted to contribute. I put him in shoes (like the glorified socks/booties from Carters with the soft suede-like bottoms) when he goes out to music class or the library or the park, to prevent sunburn and stepping all over gross surfaces.
However that reason is only partially true. Not sure if Francey is crawling but Max is and with vigor, to the point where he has nasty rug burn on the tops of his feet. So I now keep socks on him when inside to lessen the effects and shoes on when outside to prevent the public at large from judging my poor baby's nasty feet. And me as a mother. And the nanny as a caretaker.
But for the most part, esp leading up to the rug burn, he's barefoot.
