Verizon Fios

We are getting it installed on Thursday!  To those who have it, did it really take 6 hours to install??????????

Re: Verizon Fios

  • It did take a while... but I'm not sure whether it might have been because there had never been cable where we are so they had to run the wires?  I dunno but they ran them underground which I guess is what takes a while.

  • It took a long time, probably close to that, but for most of it, they were outside.  Only the last two hours (depending on how many tv's you want it installed on, we had 6) take place inside.

  • Thanks!  I am having MIL come over to help watch C so I can keep an eye on the guy.  Good to know he will be outside for a while (but sucks for him since it will be so hot out).
  • The previous owners had it installed, so he only had to come turn it back on and hook up the wireless router and tvs.  He was here maybe 90 minutes.  I'm sure the install itself of the wires is what takes most of the time.

    This!

DH met them here while the other people were moving out and we weren't in here yet so they could set it up.

  • we were the first one in our building to get it so it took a while. they came at 11:30 and left at 8. but the condo complex i live in offered it to residents but didn't have the right wiring complete.

they are going to give you a HUGE box that usually goes in the closet but they need an outet to run. so we have the box in the close. for a condo it looks odd but im sure in house it looks fine.

Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3<br>
  • Are box is in the garage.  Its not that big like size of a textbook 2 thick?

We didn't want wires everywhere, so they drilled small holes in the floor (everyroom is ready now but we only have 2 TVS).

Stay on top of them though because I heard stories where they don't care so it can be sloppy.
