How was your weekend?
What are you looking forward to this week?
Re: Happy Monday!
I had a great, relaxing weekend! Got a pedi, spent time at the beach, did lots of reading, thoroughly cleaned the house, and went to a friend's super casual wedding at an outdoor beach bar. All in all, it was fun! For once, I didn't feel like the weekend FLEW by, which was awesome.
This week, I'm taking some students to a two-day college program, and then I'm off Thursday and Friday! Yipppeeee!
What a weekend I had!! Horseback riding was soooo fun - definitely an experience I won't forget. Afterwards we went to lunch with my friends' whole family that we were visiting, and then stopped at a little winery on the way back home. Yesterday we had friends over for brunch to celebrate my bday. DH and I cooked some amazing food, and it was just nice being with my close friends (though missing my faraway friends and family). Overall I just felt so happy and blessed, and realized I need to stop acting like my life sucks just because of the job crap, because my life is far from sucking!
I am looking forward to being OFF on Friday and heading up to NYC!!!!
@Rach: Glad you had a great birthday weekend!
My weekend was good. We sort of sucked at our volleyball tournament but it was still fun. My parents were for sure surprised with our announcement (I have to upload the video yet).
I don't have a whole lot planned for this week. We are supposed to go out for margaritas on Thursday so it'll be weird not drinking with the gang.
Shmel's Blog
@Mel - can't wait to see that video, I love that kind of stuff.
My weekend was pretty good. The Phillies were playing the Mets so we went to the game on Saturday. Unfortunately the Phils got killed but it was still a nice way to spend they day. I was super tired when we got home so DH went out that night without me with his BF.
On Sunday we bottled the wine we've been making for the last 10 months with some friends. It came out really good! Which is a good thing since we now have 108 bottles of it in our spare bedroom. Well, make that 107 bottles since we had to enjoy some with dinner last night
@Mel-can't wait to see the video too! How excited are your parents?
The weekend was very eventful for us. We had to finish cleaning house Saturday morning for our baby shower (it made it a lot easier on us to have it at our place)...However, one of our dogs decided to be sick in our bed. We attempted to wash the comforter (it said machine wash, so decided to give it a shot)...the washer ruined it...so about an hour before people started to arrive, we were out searching for a new comforter. The shower was great fun. I need to get pictures from my mom so I can share. Sunday, I had to go into work.
The only thing going on this week is a doctors appointment today (we had a growth scan last week and it showed that baby R is breeched). We are also doing a 3D/4D ultrasound tonight!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Very nice, thank you!
On Saturday my Mom hosted a birthday party for the special needs clients that she works with. It was so sweet and I took some pics of the event for her. Being around those wonderful guys really made me appreciative of all the blessings in my life, and not take for granted that I was born with "10 fingers and 10 toes", so to speak, with all in working order. A totally great day!
Sunday we visited with Randy's Dad and that is always a treat. Just sitting in that peaceful valley under his giant shade trees is enough to make a day perfect. All in all, a pretty wonderful weekend!!
I had a pretty good weekend. We had dinner at home Friday night. Grilled some steaks and had our first sweet corn on the cob of the summer! Nebraska sweet corn is like nothing you have ever had! People don't understand til they try it...it is SO good!!! Then watched a movie. Battle: LA...Jeff's choice. It was alright.
Saturday started with a 2-hour tennis match with my mom. She beat me (gr), but I never had real training, and she was on the varsity team at her high school in Omaha, so I can't beat myself up too bad. Then I did a little shopping with my bf, Chelsy, then Chels and her sister joined us for a trip to the demo derby. After that we stopped by a few friends' houses to have a beer.
Sunday was such a lazy day. I did get down to the fitness center though and got in a killer workout on the elliptical for an hour! : ) Also - get this - I am officially down 15 lbs and back to wedding weight...now to get down to my goal weight...hm...
Tonight I am going to see Journey with a friend in Omaha! I'm so stoked! I leave work in an hour! Woo hoo! Other than that, nothing this week besides my hair appointment Saturday morning.
However, we are in a heat advisory until Thursday. From now until Thursday they are talking a heat index (real temp + humidity) of 115!!!! BOOOO! And poor Jeff is up in an attic right now doing an install. : ( Poor guy! I would die!
I had a somewhat quiet weekend. We had our final Show Saturday night and other then that I cleaned around he house and food shopped and relaxed.
@Mel - are you telling your friends? I never drink so I wouldn't have an issue but how will you explain not drinking?
My weekend was quiet. DH works Fri and Sat. And then yesterday (Sun) we worked in the yard, and on the fence.
This week should be pretty fun. Tues. we are going to the county fair. And DH has the Tuesday off. On a side note, I'm more then ready for school to start, and to have a job again!
I guess my weekend was a little rexaling and busy. On Saturday I had to work in the early morning, then DH and I went to see Harry Potter Part 2, then picked up lunch on the way to my grandmother-in-law's house. Grandma is now in a nursing home permanently. My MIL believes grandma will not make it more than a week, says grandma seems to be weaker. However, this is not a professional opinion. MIL has to sell grandma's house in order to pay for the medical bills and nursing home. So we have been going through everything. They are thinking of having an estate sale, so I took a few pics of items of value to do some research.
Sunday DH went to a car show, I stayed home. DH killed my laptop the other day and so I spent most of the day trying to fix it, plus I looked up info on the pics I took from grandma's house.
My MIL gave me her Bissell carpet cleaner (I asked for one for my birthday, I knew they were probably too expensive for her). So today I have been cleaning my carpets. They really needed cleaning. The puppy had an upset stomach this past week and poo was on my walls and carpet. Yuck! This cleaner cleaned the stain right up!
Weekend was a lot of fun. Saturday we had a HW party for our nephew & his GF then Sunday we swam and cooked out with my cousins, as my cuzz is home for a week on vacay (working out of state).
Unfortunately late last night I had another episode (twice in 3 weeks) where I had intense acid stomach pains followed by TMI and throwing up at the same time. I have no idea what's causing this but both times I had consumed a combination of sausage, alcohol and sugar so I'm going to be sure not to eat/drink these three things in one sitting ever again and hope I don't have to deal with that anymore!!!
This week I'm looking forward to FINALLY a party-free weekend where we can just chill, save money and go with the flow on whatever comes along!!!
I'm a little late to the party, but our weekend was crazy in a good way.
Friday we help SIL decorate for the wedding and had rehearsal that night followed by a disappointing dinner (meat was overcooked/over-seasoned and very dry).
Saturday was the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and lots of fun. We got to bed around 1 am, but it was worth it.
Sunday, DH had a serious hangover until I convinced him to eat breakfast. Then we watched the bride and groom open gifts followed by our niece's birthday party. By the time we got home we were absolutley exhausted and still had to unpack and do some laundry.
Yesterday we both had to work then had to finish the laundry and do everything we didn't get done over the weekend.
I think we may go see HP Saturday. The only other thing going on this week is my BFF Lisa's birthday on Thursday.
