Hi Ladies! It only took me 8 weeks but I'm back with some pictures and a birth story if you care to read.
Danica Rose was born on May 24th at 2:30pm at Abington weighing 7lb, 1oz.
Birth story: Around 2am I woke up to pee and saw I had lost my MP. At 4am I was laying in bed and my water broke. Thankfully, she was so low that it was more like I accidentally peed myself instead of a huge gush. At 10 after 4 I called the OB because my water had broke but I wasn't really having strong contractions. They told me to come to the hospital anyway. By 4:30am I was in the shower and we all were out the door by 6:00. The timing was perfect because we made it to Abington in about 20 minutes and we didn't have to fight traffic to get here. There was no one on the road. Once we got there, we went up to L&D where I sat in Triage for about an hour while they decided if I really did rupture or not. The nurses and triage dr didn't think that I was in labor because they told me that I was too calm walking in the door. At this point I started freaking out a bit and was thinking, "OMG, I didn't just pee myself, right? I'd be so embarrassed! Maybe I did! It wasn't a huge gush." By the time I was sitting in triage my contractions were getting stronger which reassured me that my water really did break and I didn't just pee myself lol. They ended up confirming that my water did break and I hopped into a wheelchair and they took me to my room. I went in fully expecting an epidural (I wasn't trying to prove anything) and around 1:55 they gave it to me. I felt great right away and about 20 minutes later I started to feel A LOT of pressure. They said the epi would take 20 minutes to set and so I was getting worried that maybe it stopped working or something. Here, I went from 7cm to 9+ in about 15-20 minutes and was ready to push already. I ended up pushing through 4 sets of contractions (about 15 minutes) and she was out. I was so thankful everything went so well and they didn't have to use the vacuum or anything.
Abington was great... again... and I have no complaints at all. All of the nurses were super nice and even though May 24th turned out to be one of the busiest days in Abington's L&D history, I still had my own room and felt like the baby and I got really great care. The mass amount of babies born on the 24th made discharge a little delayed but other than that, it was great.
At first we got off to a bit of a rocky start because at her 2 week appointment, we learned that she had not gained ANY weight (not even an ounce!) since being discharged from the hospital. Here, she was tongue tied and wasn't able to suck enough. She was getting enough to maintain but not enough to pack on the pounds. At 2.5 weeks I had to take her to get her tongue clipped and ever since, she has been gaining about a pound a week. Now that she is getting enough food, she is also sleeping through the night (12am - 7:00/7:30am). I'm so thankful for this because our son didn't sleep through the night until he was over a year old. He was a horrible sleeper.
Here are a few pictures for now. Hopefully I did this right. Let me know if you can't see them.

Yes, it was so dark when she was born. For a while there it was turning redish and now at her roots it's a lot blonder. We're thinking she's going to be blonde/dirty blonde. We were just surprised at the hair she had and how long it was. Hunter and I were bald forever when we were younger. I swear I didn't have hair until 1st grade lol. It was so fine and so light.
Congratulations, she is really adorable.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
Yay! WB! Love the new photos, she is just a darling!
True story, I woke up with the worst cramps this morning and honestly was like, how am I EVER going to go through labor if I can't even deal with cramps? And after hearing that L&D story, I am now going to believe all labor is like that. Thank you for sharing or else I don't think that I wanted to have kids up until 5 minutes ago.
