Recc'd your running/workout shorts

I would ask this on H&F, but that board scares me! Also I know if I asked on F&B I would get reccs for $80 shorts or something crazy like that, so here I am- I know there are a lot of runners/exercisers here.

I just signed up for StrollerStrides and need to get out there to remove my muffin top. I have absolutely zero in terms of work-out clothes. Can you all recc'd some non-expensive workout gear, specifically shorts?

I am a size 10, if that matters.

when I walk/run, I wear Old Navy work out capris, short's ride up on me and I have the full on front and back wedgie every 5 steps. I have these http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=53935&vid=1&pid=633123 in both capri and long and I LOVE them. I also love that they have pockets.

I'm a huge fan of Target's C9 workout clothing. It's fairly cheap and it seems to last a while.

Me too, they are comfortable. I really like their capris and I have the long pants for the winter.

For shorts I was looking for ones with pockets, which was not easy to find, but I ended up getting some good deals on Reebok ones from TJ Max. Otherwise I have a pair of Nike shorts that I really like from D*cks.

I was wondering about the Target C9 stuff- I feel like I read a blog entry somewhere comparing one style of their shorts to much more expensive ones, but I can't find it!

My fave pair of running shorts ever is the Nike pacer (which used to be the tempo but the temp now only comes as a track short I believe.) Here is what I'm talking about. They are comfortable and light and don't ride up or give me wedgies or any of that other nonsense some shorts can do.

For tops etc I also am a target fan. (and I do get shorts there in a pinch but my favorites are the nikes.) Target is good though if you dont really want to invest a lot and want some options etc.

If you are a faithful stalker you can get some good deals at the UA outlet but not always.

I've heard good things about various running skirts but I've never tried them myself. I can see how they could be good for longer runs sometimes.

I like Target. You might want to check the Under Armor outlet on Ft Smallwood Road. They usually have pretty cheap workout shorts/capris/pants.

I love my Old Navy workout shorts with the underwear built in, otherwise I have wedgie issues (TMI, I know). They also have a little tiny pocket big enough for your key when you go running. I got them a couple years ago and scooped up 3 pair since I loved them so much, so I'm not sure if they have them anymore. But I also love their yoga pants, which I run in when it's cooler.

Ditto pp on Target C9 line. Also, Costco carries capris and tanks that are the same as the super expensive lululemon ones. Blog about it here and this slightly insane woman blogging about it here. I love the tanks and capris, I think they occasionally have shorts as well.

I have some serious junk in the trunk and had issues with some of the lined target shorts because the size that fit my booty was too loose in the waist and would fall down when running. I went on a mission to find the best running shorts at D*cks and really like both the Adidas Marathon 10 and the Reebok Core Run Short. They are both long enough to cover my thighs but are nice and light and moisture-wicking for the summer. They put both on sale at D*cks occasionally for between $20 and $25. Also, you can look at the sale racks for discontinued colors at a discount. Have fun!

thanks for the reccs- the Nike shorts are on sale @ nordstrom during their sale for $19 a pair, so I think I will pick up a pair of them and hit Target as well. I am tempted to join Costco just to check out the stuff NDM posted... I definitely need to upgrade my yoga pants, but I am far to cheap to shell out the cash for Lululemon.
