Kind of a play off yesterdays,
What do you want your kids to call you? And what do you call your parents?
Re: QOTD
I would like for El to call me Mama, or just Mom. I don't have anything aginst mommy, I just prefer mama or mom. We're having El call H, Daddy.
I call my mom, or mama or Kim! And I call my dad, dad. Nothing more.
This stems from my sister, it drives me UP THE WALL when she calls our parents mommy & daddy. Especially daddy! OMG this REALLY bothers me!
It also bothers me when adults call their parents mama or daddy...mostly because my MIL still refers to her father as daddy....and she's 70.
Michael calls me either mom or mommy, but I refer to myself as mom when talking to him. The kids at daycare must call their moms mommy and I think he picked up on it there. I like either!
)
My SIL and her partner do something sweet with their daughter- one is mama and one is mommy. I think it is cute!
Right now M calls me Mama (mostly) and Mommy (sometimes).
DH is Dada (mostly) and Daddy (sometimes)
I call my parents Mom and Dad
K calls me Mom but it changes to Momma when she wants something...she calls H Daddy
M calls me Mommy and H Daddy. I've always thought of it as a sign of growing up when K changed from calling me mommy to mom.
DS1 calls me mommy. At least he did until DS2 came home. Now I'm mama or mommy. For a few weeks it was only mama. DH wants me to be mommy, I wanted mama, but it's really what the kid calls you. DH is daddy.
I call my parents mom and dad. Sometimes I say daddy, because my dad needs some spoiling occasionally, and he likes it. My mom used to be momma, but we're a bit on the cool side of relationships, so mom works.
I'll write mom and dad for the IL's but call them their given names in person.
H and I refer to me as Mama. I kinda hope that's what E calls me when she grows up. When talking to E, I call H Daddy. If I want to talk to H, I call him Dadda. I just can't call him daddy when talking to him.
My parents are mom and dad. If I'm getting frustrated with my mom, I call her mother. (My dad never frustrates me
)
Harli calls me Mama. When I ask her to say Mommy she replies with "No, Mama!" She doesn't call Kory (her dad) dad or daddy. She doesn't call him anything, but she also doesn't see him.
I call my mom either Mom or Mother (mainly if she pisses me off) and I call my dad (actually my step-dad) Dad or Dave. I don't talk to my real dad but my brother and I refer to him as Francis or Our Sperm Donor.
He calls me "Mom", almost always has. Babies aren't supposed to do that, but apparently no one told mine.
He calls DH "Daddy", and once in a while he addresses us by our names.
My parents are "Mom" and "Dad". I probably quit calling them "Mommy" and "Daddy" by the time I was seven or eight. I have two older half sisters by my dad and I remember them in their late teens or early twenties still calling him "Daddy" and it drove me nuts because I had long since given it up.
