No kidding! My next appointment (I am sure this is about the same for you) is my last 4 week appt. and then it's on to every 2 weeks already.
I just talked to my OB a bit about delivery yesterday ... she said that they wouldn't typically let me go more than 2 weeks
past my due date, but depending on how I am doing and how the baby is, they might consider it a week or a week and a half after my due date.
CRAZY. I had not thought about that. My next appt is 7/29...I have to do the 1 hour glucose. But you're probably right that I'd change to every other week at that point. NUTS.
Also, I am almost done with Our Bodies Ourselves, Pregnancy and Childbirth edition. It is really interesting and it helped me think more about delivery and all that. I have questions now for my next appt...which is good I guess!
Yeah they had scheduled all of my appointments upfront, so I know exactly when I am going up until I deliver. Yesterday she went over the results of my first GD test (I had an early one hour GD test at 20 weeks and passed with a 99 - cutoff is 140) and then mentioned that she'll have me do it again next time and then she'll see me every 2 weeks after that ... it made me a little giddy.
I was actually surprised that she measured my fundal height yesterday ... for some reason I didn't expect that until 28 weeks.
I don't know that I've heard of that one ... I'll have to check it out! I'd be interested in your Q and A's!
Mainly I want to know what kind of philosophy they have around medication, what kind of resources they offer for non-medical pain relief, if they wait for the cord to stop pulsing before cutting it, if they allow you to have skin to skin/nurse immediately after delivery (assuming mom and baby are healthy). These are all things that are recommended but not always customary at every hospital.
Not possible! That's so exciting!
It also means I need to start thinking about my Halloween costume
