Airport Car Rentals?
Have any of you ever rented a car from the airport when you weren't flying? I'm looking at rental car rates for this weekend, and the cheapest one is on Hotwire but it's out of DFW airport. The last time I rented a car at an airport the counter was in the terminal and a shuttle took me to the car. This seems like a PITA. Anyone familiar with DFW's rental car system?

I'm sitting right here in the middle of it now. Haha, I work there.
You can just take the South entrance to the airport and exit rental car drive (it is before the tollbooths) and follow the signs to "rentals". It's not complicated at all...you would just need someone to take you because there is no place to leave your car.
Just a tip: The airport taxes and fees are very, very high. Make sure you look at the grand total with tax for the rental to be sure your getting as good of a deal as you think.
The local market stores generally have slightly higher weekend rates, but much lower taxes which can often even out the rates and be more convienient for pick up/drop off.
