My P90X Journey: Day 1

I plan on taking before and after pictures as well as measurements. I know some of you were interested in hearing about th program when I am finished but I figured I would do periodic updates seeing the board is pretty dead lately. I can sum up day 1 in basically 1 word- OUCH!

I felt wholly inadequate while doing the work out. I can't do a push up or pull up to save my life and that is all last night's work out was. But I did do modifications of everything. Having the resistance bands was a life ssaver.

I woke up this morning thinking "Wow I really don't hurt. My muscles just feel tired." Well self, you thought wrong. Now at 3:16 pm I am feeling it. And to boot, tonight is the most dificult work out in the series.

I am struggling with the amount of food I have to take in. Phase 1 is a VERY high protein diet and I feel like I am eating all the time which is very unnatural for the weight watcher within me.

This better work Wink

Re: My P90X Journey: Day 1

  • Awesome job! I love it when my muscles feel tired because I worked them hard :)

Don't worry too much about feeling like you're eating too much you're following the plan so I'm sure you'll see some results. You ultimately have to find a balance between creating a deficit in calories and starving yourself. If you eat too little your body goes into starvation mode causing it to hang onto every calorie you consume. I've had the best results when I've eaten my full calorie allotment daily.

I agree about loving my muscles hurting after a workout!  And I think I'm not losing my baby weight as quickly as I should be because I've had a hard time taking in the calories I need for me and for him since I'm nursing (i.e., I'm not eating as much/often as I should be).  So eat up and love every minute of it!!!

I'm excited to see your progress as you go through this program!  Can't wait to see how well you do!
