Has anyone ever taking Melatonin?

I haven't been sleeping that last couple of nights (gee I wonder why?). I use to just take a benadryl whenever I couldnt sleep. Now that I take a couple of allergy meds before I go to sleep I'm not allowed to take anything that has benadryl (or any other antihistamine) in it (including tylenol pm).

I was going to go to Target in a little while and check out what other sleeping aids they had there. I know my step grandfather use to take melatonin all the time. I just need to do something so I can get more then 2 hrs of sleep.

Re: Has anyone ever taking Melatonin?

  • My H takes it.  I've never tried it, but it seems to help him.  He didn't like the side effects of the prescriptions he was given and wanted to try something more natural.
  • I gave it a shot last night. I did fall asleep quicker, but that could have been from the combined effect of my allergy meds, beer and the melatonin. I didnt stay asleep though. Im guessing eventually Ill get so tired it wont matter  any more.
