Conservatives: I'm surprised by this
I don't know how many conservatives are lurking out there, but this surprises me. Per Rasmussen, 64% of Republicans choose Palin for 2012?
When asked to choose among some of the GOP?s top names for their choice for the party?s 2012 presidential nominee, 64% say Palin. The next closest contenders are two former governors and unsuccessful challengers for the presidential nomination this year -- Mike Huckabee of Arkansas with 12% support and Mitt Romney of Massachusetts with 11%.
Three other sitting governors ? Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Charlie Crist of Florida and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota ? all pull low single-digit support.

And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this Rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.
Re: Conservatives: I'm surprised by this
1. Palin has notoriety. I doubt most self-admitted Republicans even know who Jindal and Pawlenty are, much less Crist.
2. Average Republicans lack creativity. It's no surprise they immediately look towards familiar faces for 4 years from now.
A year ago they said they were going with Giuliani, and two years ago when put up against John McCain, Barack Obama would have only won Hawaii and Illinois.
It's just a lack of information right now. She's the familiar face. I probably wouldn't vote for her, but if she were to become a senator and make fiscal conservatism, energy, and ethics her priorities, I'd find her favorable. I do think there is better out there, though, including but not limited to Jindal and Romney.
Yeah, but these are Republicans..not necessarily only social conservative Republicans.....
I really doubt she'll get the nom in 2012... I certainly would not vote for her. I'm all Romney at this point. I have learned to puffy heart love him (after my boy Rudy dropped out)- and think his Morman-ism is the one big thing that kept him from getting the nom this year.
She's got 4 years to either do some awesome sh!t, or to really dig herself deeper into teh crap hole... time will tell!
At this point she would not be my choice either....but....as you say she has 4 years....
I think many Rs are focused on social issues instead of fiscal ones, though. JMO, but that is my observation.
