So today...

I spent 2 hours researching sex predators in my area.  I know now exactly where they live and the vehicles they drive.  There were only two in my zip code.

End of story.

Re: So today...

  • Is this all registered sex offenders or just the ones rated as high danger (can't think of how they phrase this)?

One of Rodgers' psych profs told his class that our county has the highest per capita sex offenders in the state, so I pulled up the map of all registered sex offenders. There were some on every block, on every street, in every city in this county. Most of them were "low risk." But still, our county is sick.

  • In NJ it's all sex offenders regardless of class.

Here are the two stories for my zip code:

Creep #1-Grabbed a girls butt (over clothing).  His address and picture was online.  No car license plate though.  He is in a low tier for sex offenders.

Creep #2-Molested a child for an extremely large length of time.  His address, picture, vehicle description and license plate were all posted on the site. He is in a high tier for sex offenders.  And this is a VERY mean comment on my part, but he looks like a creepster just from his pic.

  • What's that website that lists them all? I thought it was watchdog.com but that led me to some spam protection thing.
  • You have to google your state.  NJ has a state run website with the information.

  • I just searched around us. We have 4 within 3 miles and 21 within 5 miles. Yikes!!! One is named Chester. Creepy!!

    No judging from me!

I found 19 in a decent sized radius. None in my immediate area. Thank goodness.

  • Ok I went to familywatchdog.com, that's the site. There were only 3 in my town and I could only get info for 2 of them, but basically they both molested a girl (or girls) from ages 11-16. They were both about my age too, which is super gross to me for some reason.
  • Yikes, there's 31 in my city.....this is scary :(

  • Ok, so every block may have been an exaggeration. But there are 93 (all classes of sex offenders) in my zip code, and we have 3 zip codes in this town. This is why I chose a gated apartment complex that is very selective about their renters rather than a cheaper rent house.
