Today I had a third interview for a job I started interviewing for a month ago. I didn't hear anything from them for awhile so I assumed they filled the position. Regardless, I called and emailed (to the point to where I was worried I would be arrested for harassment - ha) to find out where I stood - no response. Finally, two Fridays ago the HR VP got back to me and apologized profusely. My third interview was today and about two hours after I left, I got the offer. I am going to make about $25k more than at my previous job (ha ha ha suckers that laid me off!) and have a freaking ridiculous benefits package. As soon as I saw the description for this job (well over a month ago) I KNEW this was MY job - I think the HR VP was amused by my excitement.
It is going to be a huge undertaking and I am very excited about the challenge. When I last interviewed with them, they mentioned a few people needed to be eliminated and that made me really nervous. I have let people go before but - it sucks and that is not a fun way to start a new position. Thankfully, they decided it would be better to eliminate those people BEFORE I started, so they took care of this process between my second and third interviews. I am very thankful about that.
When I joined this board a month and a half ago I was beyond shocked and devastated about my situation. You all were great listeners - I really felt comfortable venting on here - especially since I didn't feel so comfortable saying the same things to people IRL. Thank you so much for your advice and encouragement!!
