so I get another ultrasound next week
My OB office called this morning to tell me that they need to do a
repeat ultrasound because they didn't get a view of the outflow tracks
of the heart. So I am going back next Tuesday for a second scan!
I'm
slightly anxious about it, only because it's the heart, even though the
nurse doesn't sound worried and was assuring me they just didn't get a
good picture.
I'm just trying to focus on the fact that I get to
see BabyGirl again! (and Tim is already joking that they'll tell
us it's a boy now!)
Re: so I get another ultrasound next week
This exactly. All will be fine!
I told you about the panicked call I got from my MFMs office around week 24 (6 weeks after my anatomy scan). Somehow, they just realized they didn't note the placenta location... so they wanted me in stat. I freaked out because of the message they left but in the end, it was just a mistake in their documentation -- enjoy seeing her again!
This! I have to have a 4th next time: 3rd try to get all of the a/s info. My OB keeps trying to get a good look at the spine (would have to go through my pelvic bone to see the lower spine) and to get a good view of the heart.
His heart: we can see all 4 chambers and they look good, but there is a shadow and she can't tell 100% but thinks it's only there because of the way he is laying. So hopefully he moves this time so we can see it better next time otherwise I have to go to a specialist. (A shadow can be a soft indication / marker for Down's.)
So I understand the anxiety, I really do, but remember at this point they are only looking for markers - and those don't mean 100% issue, it just means that there could be the potential for something, but at the same time everything could be perfect and what they are really seeing is within the norm.
