From 2vermont's post below. ?If Palin were the candidate, and she's exactly like she is now, could you bring yourself to vote for her instead of a Dem? ?I know it would probably depend on who she's running against, so give me some matchups and what you would do.
Re: if it were Palin...
I really can't see me voting for her. I would go 3rd party candidate.
This reminds me of what happened in 96. I could not vote Clinton as I don't vote Democrat for the presidency but I couldn't vote Dole. So I went Brown of the Libetarian candidate. I sort of knew Clinton was going to get re-elected anyway and it wasn't like the country was in some downward spiral so 4 more years of Clinton was at least tolerable.
So if it is Obama and things are going okay I will vote 3rd party. If things are going really badly for the country then I may have to think about it a bit more closely if I feel the country needs a change since a 3rd party candidate has no shot. And for some reason if Obama is not the Democratic nominee and the nominee is some off the wall -no way I could live with them as president- then I might vote Palin. I couldn't vote 3rd party and throw away my vote if I felt I really needed to get the Democratic party out of the White House for some reason.
