Gardners - Tomatoes in fall?

I saw that a nursery I follow on FB just got a shipment of heirlooms in that they said are perfect to plant for fall. Will those do well? I guess I just never thought of tomatoes in the fall/winter.

  • Which nursery was it?  I have never planted fall tomatoes, but I have heard it works.  I'll be finding out for myself this year.

Weird, I follow them on FB too & didn't see that.  I wonder if I accidentally hid them or something.

Glad to hear it was them though, we'll be heading that way soon to discuss fall gardening with them :)

  • Fall tomatoes work well.  Of course that is if we don't have early drops in temps or hurricanes.

I've got my seeds started but I've been so busy i may pick up starters instead.  I suspect they may all die while I'm gone next week.

  • My tomato plants that produced 5 total ate now COVERED in itty bitty tomatoes! I have an early girl and some sort of cherry.
