anniversary plans?
I can't believe its coming up so fast. Are you getting each other anything? Any major plans?
I am not sure what DH has up his sleeve, but he has made a few hints that the kids will be going to his parents and we are going somewhere. I made a few hints a couple of months ago about going to get a nice hotel room in a nearby town and spending the night. I don't want to do anything just enjoy some alone time and sleep in late. I am hoping thats the plan. I feel like I need to get him something since we didn't do gifts last year because we went out of town.

Nope. We're camping/biking or backpacking that weekend, but it's not an anniversary trip per se - just happens to be that weekend. DH isn't big on observing anniversaries, and I'm not going to force it (last year's dinner was quite disappointing). I'm not even going to mention it if he doesn't remember.
We are going to do something cool over the weekend, however: our rings have the San Juan mountain range on them (geographically correct; the view from the Durango ski area). We're going up to the ski area to get the same view that's on our rings and take pics there.
We're taking a belated anniversary trip in September once DH earns more vacation time. On our actual anniversary he works until 10 so probably not much going on that day. We are getting each other a joint gift though. In sticking with the traditional 2nd anniversary gift of cotton we're going to get a photo we love put on canvas. Last year's paper anniversary was cruise tickets...I have no idea what we'll do for leather!
My original plan was to get him a scooter, (2 years 2 wheels) but I just paid the money I saved for it on an exam I have to take this fall to become a certified Interior Designer. So this year I think we are just going to go out to one of our favorite restaurants.
For a gift my BIL is in Barcelona right now so I asked him to pick me up an FCB football shirt for DH since we honeymooned in Barcelona. I think I'll just save the scooter for Christmas.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
We're going back to the scene of the crime...VEGAS!
The weekend before our actual anniversary we're going on the wine tasting adventure we were supposed to do last year before DH blew out his achilles tendon.
Then later in August for his birthday and our anniversary we're going to Vegas and staying at a lovely hotel and having an amazing meal.
DH will be out of town again. He's supposed to be at work for at least the next 5 years for our anniversary. I don't know what it'll be like to celebrate an anniversary until we have been married at least 6 years. We most likely aren't exchanging gifts again, we have a golf tourney the weekend before, so there is really no time to celebrate.
I can't believe it's been 2 years already!
